Apartments Matuško in Mlini

This was our 2nd visit to Croatia, the first time in Cavtat a few years ago. We found Mlini much quieter, but still with plenty to offer. We went self-catering in one of the apartments with a partial sea view, and it could not be faulted in any way. The apartment was well equipped with everything you could wish for with self-catering. Towels were changed every day, as was the apartment cleaned, and complimentary tea/coffee topped up. The balcony was perfect, with 2 sun loungers, 2 tables and 4 chairs, very nice for relaxing on in the evening. Plenty of nice restaurants close by, as are the ferries to Dubrovnik and Cavtat. A 15/20 minute walk along the promenade brings you into Srebreno, where there is a large supermarket to do all your shopping. All in all, probably one of the best holidays we've had and would highly recommend these apartments and villas.

Perfect holiday. We visited Mlini for the first time start of September for 10 nights. Apartment is well equipped and staff are happy to help wherever needed. There is a well equipped kitchenette with sink, fridge, kettle, hot plate x2 and pots and pans. Also a toastie maker! They provided washing up liquid and sponge which was handy. Was clean and tidy and cleaned daily. We had a wonderful view. Beds comfy. Lovely local restaurants near by - we recommend La Norma in Mlini and Konoba Dubrava - a short uber ride away. Supermarkets in reasonable distances for walking. Iron, safe and hairdryer with diffuser attachments! All needed toiletries. Air con was perfect. 2x tvs. Pool was nice, as was the local beaches. Need to get down to pool for 10 am to get a good spot. Beds come about later during day though. Spa is nice and indoor pool. Towels for pool available for 10€ deposit per towel. Water brought to room daily, though can drink tap water.

I travelled with my husband and 15 yr old daughter. We stayed at the Maistra Select Villa in mid- July 2025. Lots of positives, including: *clean and well- kept grounds. *very clean apartment *fabulous sea views *modern facilities including a gym and lovely indoor pool *beautiful resort * friendly/ helpful staff The hotel and villas are set within quite large grounds that involves lots of walking and climbing up and down steps. This was fine for us but wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or a visual impairment. At the start of our visit, the situation with the sun loungers was ridiculous. If you wanted to sit by the pool then you had no choice but to queue and wait for the pool to open at 8am. Lots of guests would then claim prime sun loungers with their towels and then not return until much later in the day. Anyone coming later than 8am didn’t stand a chance. Fortunately the hotel didn’t tolerate this for long and implemented a new policy that stated that any towels that were left longer than 30 mins on an un- occupied lounger would be removed. The pool attendants did a great job of checking the loungers and lifting any towels that were left for too long. This was implemented every day and instantly resolved the problem. The pool area itself was very clean and well organised. Unfortunately the cost of sun loungers at the beach prevented us from spending much time there. 38 Euros per day for three sun loungers and a parasol over a ten day period was too much for us. Breakfast in the hotel was pretty standard but did get very busy after 0830. We were happy with our villa although we did find it to be a bit small. Shower and air con worked well. The fridge and kettle were handy too. Everything felt modern and clean. Overall, Mlini is a great resort for a relaxing holiday. We would definitely return to Croatia although we did find it to be more expensive than other recent holidays to other places in the Mediterranean.

Mlini Villas & Apartments was the perfect setting for our first visit in Croatia. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm welcomes and felt truly looked after throughout our stay. With its peaceful charm and immaculate beauty, Mlini feels like a hidden haven. Our seaview apartment exceeded expectations. The view was stunning, and the spacious balcony (complete with sun loungers) was a real highlight. The bed was super comfy, and the apartment had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The outdoor pool was lovely, though it did get quite busy, so we chose to spend time on the beach instead. Sun loungers were a bit pricey at €28, but we treated ourselves and enjoyed the setting. We also made use of the indoor pool, which was large, quiet, and peaceful. Always plenty of loungers available on the outdoor terrace too. My husband used the gym, which he said was very well equipped for a hotel. We took the boat to Dubrovnik and walked the famous city walls — it was hot, but so worth it. The old town is busy but full of character, and we really enjoyed exploring it. Overall, we loved our first time in Croatia. Lovely people, beautiful surroundings, and a perfect mix of activity and relaxation. We came home feeling truly refreshed.

Absolutley beautiful location with stunning sea views. The villa we stayed in was the second row up but it was so close to the sea you could actually hear the waves from the balcony. The villa was spacious and very clean with lots of wardrobe space. The bathroom was big with 2 sinks, however the only negative thing was the shower! It was just a hose shower that didn’t really stay in place so you had to hold it most of the time or else just use very little water pressure! Not a huge thing but a nice rainfall or power shower would’ve made it perfect! The villa was cleaned every day and they gave us extra towels when we needed them. We had breakfast in the Oleander Beach Bar which was really nice! We didn’t go to the pool as the beach was way less crowded and the water was perfection! Beach beds were €10 each and €8 for a parasol, so very good value. Water shoes are definitely a good idea as the beach is stony but once you’re in the water it’s fine! There were a few restaurants nearby and a few more in Srebreno which was a lovely short walk along the coast. It was also very easy to get the little ferry to Dubrovnik or Cavtat ( we did both) , and then an Uber back which was approx €12 from both places. Overall we would definitely recommend staying here! The staff were also extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to return to beautiful Mlini!

I was worried this resort would be too quiet, what was I thinking it was absolute heaven on earth We stayed in a premium sea view villa which was more than comfortable with stunning views, we slept perfectly.They are not really designed for self catering not much prep space but we were on holiday afterall. No sunbed wars, no pressure to go in restaurants and barely any traffic or any rowdy groups. all the staff are super friendly and helpful.The walk from Mlini to Sobreno seems far but is easy very pleasant under the shade of the trees by the crystal clear waters.The boat taxis are reasonable and more reliable than britsh transport. It was our daughter's birthday while we were there which we did not broadcast yet returned from bathing to a bottle of bubbles and a cake, by far the most relaxing Holiday resort we have visited. Very pleased with Villa at the tranquil village of Mlini. It’s an excellent base, with boat trips to Dubrovnik and Cavtat readily accessible. The beaches are stony and the pool was a little cool, but we really liked it overall. We paid to have breakfast included and found the food at the beach club was superior to main restaurant which was very busy. Coffee also better at the beach club option! The vila suited our two adults and two kids (14/12) very well as they shared the couch bed. There are good food options in the area and even more if you make the short trip to Cavtat (€10 per adult by boat, fixed fare €22 home by taxi. Overall while not perfect we would recommend highly. Breakfast in main canteen probably the main negative point.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay. Went with my son, he had a superior apartment and I had a premium side view villa. Really clean, spacious and confortable, comfy beds and pillows (I am very particular about pillows and these were lovely and comfy). Great view of the sea and nice to hear lapping of waves as you fall asleep. These are situated in an ideal location, with a coastal path to walk along where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. We had breakfast included which was at the Oleander restaurant on the beach front and it was excellent. Fresh fruit platter every day, bread basket, croissants, jams etc, juices and a hot menu to choose from too. Our waitress Sobrena was fantastic. About 100 yards from Hotel Asterea you can get a water taxi to the lovely village of Cavtat - well worth a trip and also to Dubrovnik where we went twice. Would recommend getting a day pass there for 40 euros which allows entrance onto the city walls, Rectors Palace, Franciscan monastery and other attractions. It is rather expensive to eat out but food quality is good. Would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful resort and holiday! The villa had a stunning view and had every comfort. We had an issue with our air con but the manager offered to relocate us to a different villa and provided free breakfast for our stay for the inconvenience. Hotel, pool and spa facilities were excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Uber gets you to Dubrovnik/ Cavtat and other local areas at a reasonable cost and usually vey quick response.

Brilliant. The owner is a lovely man. The views were beautiful. Not far from the beach if you dont mind the steps. Its in a good position if you like peace and quite. Its close enough to the capital woth cheap taxi or buses which are very close by
