Marion Hotel in Polis Chrysochous

We got there very late so our key was in an envelope on the desk as there were no staff. Got to the room Via a dingy corridor and opened the door to a musty baldy lit room which looked like it was from 1973. The bed was small and was very old with a dip in the middle of the mattress, a very old brown blanket, and I don't even think it was a proper double bed.. furniture that probably belonged in an antique junk shop, shop to sit on was 3 dining room chairs an AC unit without a control and a TV without one as well. Plug sockets that were broken with some with cut wires hanging off them Bathroom with filthy tiles and a very old avocado green bathroom set , the toilet was so bad that the green had turned to white in places. A fragile old sink unit above the basin. The bath was not a full size one and the shower attachment was so badly corroded that I didn't want to pick it up. No water from the basin hot tap and no hot water in the shower. Towels that had seen better days and to cap it all my wife almost fell when she tried to get in the bath We both didn't get any sleep because the bed would bang every time and it was so uncomfortable Enough was enough, we couldn't have done anything the night before so we checked out. The receptionist didn't care less when we left. We lost the money but my wife's wellbeing is more important. The Marion needs a refit desperately.. if not then please avoid. Ok it was cheap but there's limits.

Horrible hotel experience in Cyprus
My worst hotel experience in Cyprus. Refused to give me the air conditioner remote in August Cyprus heat even though I payed for it. Refused to even see my confirmation. Yelled and screamed that his hotel is not charity. The door from inside does not lock..anyone with key can enter while you're inside sleeping. Balconies are next to each other...next door visitor can easily jump and come. Found a lizard in room. Could hear everything next door. Not quiet..slamming doors...owner aggressive and very angry and kept complaining about guests. Halls, and carpet dirty. Only thing good was location but there are others nearby much more comfortable. Pool looked dirty. Left after one night, even though I payed for two. Had to contact authorities.

Stuff was very friendly, location is it the middle of the city, walkable distance to the city center. Now for the bad part: the whole building drastically needs renovation and some sort of investment. Building itself, corridors, reception, lift and the rooms itself are just old. Bed is very uncomfortable, pillow hard and hard to sleep on. Carpets in the room seem disgusting and aged very poorly. Toilet is very hard to flush(had to use to hand to do so). There are balconies, and they seem to be fine, just the doors to them do not seal properly, and you can hear some cars at night. The only good thing about the rooms is the air-conditioning, though extra paid. It works good efficiently if needed, but at night is very gentle, perfect to sleep. Plenty of parking in front of the hotel, though it is dirty and uneven.

Would completely understand the standard, if rooms were 30 euro per night, not 70 plus AC. Recommend only if you do not have any other option(like we).
