E.J. Pyrgos Bay Hotel in Kato Pyrgos

I booked for 3 nights as a solo traveller. Whichever way you choose to get there you need to drive a long distance on mountain roads that snake back and forth. This route is beautiful but also potentially nerve shredding for anyone with anxiety. I drove from my family home in Nicosia and chose to drive via Paphos to do as little mountain driving as possible. It was a very long journey that took nearly 4 hours. My room was sparse, clean and modern with a wonderful view of the beach. The beach and the swimming were great. My bed was for too hard for me. I was told it was a new expensive orthopedic mattress. I hardly got any sleep and left after 1 night. I walked into town for dinner at a fish tavern. The food was fine. The lunch I had at the hotel was fine but it was average at best. Pyrgos town on Friday night was practically empty with nothing to do. The hotel is clean and the staff are lovely. A family run place with all the family onsite, including the kids and the grandparents. All very charming. The areas directly surrounding the hotel are grubby and often had numerous piles of rubbish, junk, building materials laying around. Wonderful for a remote simple getaway well off the beaten track. Personally I didn't like it as all and couldn't get any sleep so I bailed within 24 hours. You live and learn.

Repeat guests for too many times. Excelllent view , beautiful sunset, the bathroom more confortable since the renovation has been done. Breakfast is very poor, very bad quallity of cheese, no filter coffee, just nescafe in a big tin for everyone and not in sachets. The towels smell very bad. like sewrage, no aroma at all, happily we had personal ones. For the value of money we paid for - 120.00 euros daily - this hotel is far away.

Very good location, very nice view but not clean rooms, towels had a wet smell and very bad breakfast. The room was ready for check in at 14:30 instead of 14:00 and the check out time is 11:00 instead of 12:00. Moreover breakfast is served until 09:30.
