LH Hotel Gold in Cesky Krumlov

Very poor experience.

We made our reservation two months in
advance and it was already paid, but upon arrival, it was not in the hotel's system. After waiting over 20 minutes while they tried to locate it, they finally gave us a room key — turned out to be an occupied room on the third floor with a narrow stair. When we returned to the front desk, they offered us another room, but it was much smaller than the one we had booked, and they said it was the only one available.
We had to change hotels that same night and lost our paid reservation.
Fortunately, Hotels.com handled the situation professionally and issued a full refund, but the hotel's poor organization and lack of accountability made the experience very stressful.
I would not recommend this hotel.

The end of our trip to Czech Republic was unfortunately marred by the unprofessionalism of this hotel. We had no major issues prior our check out, as we're relatively easy going travellers. However, come check out time, we were told that we had to pay for the hot tub services that I had previously seen were included in our stay. It already said on booking.com that it was included. It did not have the "additional charges" under it, that the other activities like the fishing, bowling and walking tours did. I could have safely assumed it was included without asking. However, I'd rather be sure so I asked the man at the reception, and he assured my husband and I that was. I even asked about the fee for the sauna, as I was willing to pay for it, but to my surprise, he said it was included too. Perhaps I should have showed him the site details but seeing as he worked there, I assumed he knew what was included and what was not. Another man handled our check out and demanded that we pay, said it was impossible we were told otherwise because his colleague had worked there for years, as if that excused mistakes. He went on to say that since they've been opened, they've never had such an issue. Well, I've been travelling my whole life and haven't had such an issue either. I know what was said. I was there. He went on to patronise us and asked if we really thought the 20-30 euro room included the hot tub, that we actually thought their wellness center (it's just a lukewarm hot tub, a sauna and shower) would be free. I've been in all type of abodes and many do include saunas, jacuzzis, and more. Like I said, I asked and checked beforehand. Eventually, he told us to just go and accused us of scamming them (ironic, I said it was the opposite) and tried to guilt trip us by saying we were letting them fall into bankruptcy. If it wasn't for our train leaving about 30 minutes later, I would've stayed to get to the bottom of this. I don't take false accusations like this lightly. I'm an upstanding person and have always been fair and more than generous with whoever I've come across. He was eager for us to just leave as more guests started to arrive. No doubt, he'll be telling a different story about what transpired because he tried to do so to my face. As for the guy who originally handled us, he tried calling him but said he was asleep.

For the record, everyone else aside from the last man I dealt with was lovely, especially the housekeeping.

Cesky Krumlov is a lovely place with friendly people and establishments. To avoid this happening to you, stay elsewhere. You'll do much better.
