Everything was fantastic! I'm a big spender and want everything to be perfect, and this hotel is definitely the best I've stayed at in all of Egypt! The service, the personal touch of the staff, and the atmosphere were 10/10. While the food was good, I wouldn't say it was excellent, so 7/10. The atmosphere around the 1902 restaurant was amazing! I'd give it an 8/10. I'll definitely be back! And next time with my family!

The stretch of the Nile in Aswan is arguably the most beautiful, and the hotel's legendary status goes without saying, having inspired both the novel and film "Death on the Nile." The hotel has a very bright and airy feel overall, perhaps due to the intense sunshine outside; Aswan in September gets sun every day. The hotel itself is a special attraction.
Security: Strict security at the entrance. The hotel truly feels like a world unto itself.
Food: Breakfast has a good selection of cold dishes, and the service is excellent. The 1902 restaurant's style is a must-see.
Room: Large balcony with views of the Nile and desert. The design features a distinct North African style.
Service: I accidentally scalded myself with hot water in the evening, and the hotel promptly and professionally sent medicine twice, followed up on my condition, and offered further advice. It turned out that the medication and dressings provided by the hotel were the most suitable and highest quality for the rest of my trip. I sincerely thank all the staff who provided service. I believe one of the hallmarks of a truly 'good' hotel is its ability to handle customer emergencies like this. Thumbs up to the entire hotel.

We stayed in the old building. The view from the window was beautiful, though photos probably look better from the new building. However, if you want to experience the hotel's traditional charm, the old building is definitely better. The hotel restaurant combines North African elegance with Baroque grandeur. The staff were well-mannered, polite, enthusiastic, decent, and attentive. Since we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel due to our trip to Abu Simbel, we asked the front desk to prepare a breakfast pack, which was very substantial. At sunset, a flutist plays in the lobby, adding a delightful ambiance.

The only downside is the price, haha! But the service was absolutely fantastic; they upgraded our room for free. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. This is by far my favorite hotel in all of Egypt. The Nile sunset view was unbelievably beautiful. At 5 PM, they even organized a tour of the rooms where Agatha Christie and Churchill once stayed. The prices for dining at the hotel were also completely reasonable. Next time, I plan to visit during the off-season and stay here for a few more days—it was pure bliss!

A great hotel with excellent service. The balcony offers a lovely view of the Nile. Breakfast had limited variety, and dinner was a decent Western meal, somewhat catering to Chinese tastes. The best part was the mango juice, filled with large chunks of fruit.

After my luggage was lost, the staff at the Old Cataract Hotel went above and beyond to help me find it. On the first night, without my suitcase, they even provided many daily necessities (double sets of t-shirts, socks, spray, and other essentials). I was truly touched. The hotel manager who greeted us told us he loves Chinese people, and he didn't just say it; he proved it with his actions! ^_^
It truly lives up to its century-old reputation; it's so impressive. It's not just the beautiful scenery but also the hotel's culture. Every staff member's smiling service and simple Chinese greetings made me feel completely at home!

This was the hotel I was most looking forward to on my Egypt trip, and it absolutely lived up to expectations! The service and ambiance were beyond words. Every day at 5 PM, staff even take guests on a tour to see Churchill's and Agatha Christie's rooms. This was, hands down, the most satisfying stay of my entire trip to Egypt. I would highly recommend it to friends.

If your budget allows, I highly recommend staying at the Old Cataract for two nights. It's a hotel with a distinct old-money pedigree and exquisite attention to every detail. In Aswan, most other hotels are largely interchangeable. Stepping into the Old Cataract is like entering another world. While the new wing offers balconies perfect for photos, the old wing boasts more historical character and more opulent interiors – choose based on your preference. The Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk (apologies, I didn't catch her name) was incredibly warm and a true delight.
