Hôtel Tignes Le Diva in Tignes

Good location near ski lifts and other areas you'd want to visit. That said, the breakfast was rather disappointing, particuarly the cooked food (in fairness the dinners were much better quality) and the rooms were a combination of having extremely dry air and being too hot which led to not a single nights good sleep (a view shared across the 5 rooms we had throughout the hotel as a party).

If this hotel invested just a little more into itself, this place could be awesome. It is in a fantastic location with lots of oppotunity to impress, but sadly it's run down, dated, dirty and neglected.

Pros - A lot of reviewers criticised the service, however we found the service to be good. Thomas in the dining room was wonderfully polite, attentive and incredibly hard working. A pleasure to meet.

- The food, was actually not bad at all compared to previous reviews. Great salad bar, the quality of the meats was not the best, however the food in general was good and satiating after a day on the slopes. The menu can be a bit samey each day, but did us perfectly for the week.

- Locations this hotels strongest point. Brilliant access to the town and minutes from the slopes and lifts.

Cons - Hotel decor has been left to diminish. It is extremely dated and tired.

Rooms
- The bathrooms have a constant odd smell, like the drains are backed up.

- the rooms are deceptively tiny with poorly placed and oversized furniture. i mean really small. When you go to the bathroom it's a roulette of bang your hip on the desk, or smash your shin on the ends of the bed.

- Ventilation in the room is also poor creating a stuffy environment. Most lof the vents wete stuffed with paper towels as I assume they no longer work.

- The heating in the rooms is on permanently, you can't adjust it, and it is boiling hot. You pretty much have to sleep with the window wide open to reach a reasonable temperature. This made it incredibly hard to sleep at night.

- Stained bedding. I appreciate they have been washed but white sheets with stains is not nice.

- Housekeeping.... there was house keeping? The beds were half made on the odd occasion and the bin emptied but there was no other efforts made.

- The general hotel overview photos online don't replicate what you get. The terrace was never open as pictured. None of the furniture was ever put out so you couldn't use it if you wanted. The fire was never on in the bar. Not all rooms have a balcony, so your small room is even smaller with less access.

- Boots room, the smallest I've ever had across 9 ski seasons. Narrow, cramped and overcrowded easily.

- Bed. On arrival my partner and I were given a room with twin beds. The booking confirmation doesn't give you a choice between a double or twins. It just says "will be either a double or twin" so it's a lottery.
We approached reception to ask for a double and they said house keeping would turn it to a double. They never did for the duration of our stay and had no trust or reliability thag even if asked a second time to amend, that it still would not be done. We just pushed the two twins together ourselves.
There should be an option in the booking to state which bed you want. It's 2025. How are we still in a system where you can be given a twin bed as a couple.

Staff demeanour - On leaving a large group of guests were waiting in the foyer for the airport transfer. The hotel had put on pastries and coffees for those travelling early. When the large group left, they did leave their coffee cups and napkins on the tables in the foyer, admittently not good behaviour on their part. However, the receptionist on duty the morning of 25th Jan 25, began shouting in french as he cleared the cups and napkins. Assuming non of us spoke french, but for those who could understand to his unknowing, translated to "bunch of animals, sick of clearing up all of your shit" shouted several times throughout the foyer for those of us remaining to listen to.

To summarise -

It feels like there has been no investment in this hotel for some decades now. It would appear all profits are streamed into the newest Belambra Club hotel around the corner.

My advice - if you are on a budget, this is just fine. You will live with the above cons, but in my opinion, spend the extra money for a better experience and stay at the Tignes Club Med.

The best thing about this apartment is the location, you ski in and ski out and it is less than a minute walk from the ski lift. The actual rooms could be better but you get what you pay for (there is some mould) and it has all the basic amenities apart from an oven. The service could be better, reception doesn’t open until 4 so if you have an early flight you have to wait around.

Overall, its okay especially if you won’t be spending much time in the room. Location is amazing and great for those in their twenties seeking a budget ski accommodation.
