I rate Hôtel d'Angleterre Grenoble Centre a “5”, not because it is a “great” hotel, but because it is very good - and a very good value for the dollar (Euro). It’s a little old and tired, but it’s perfectly functional and clean. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient. You get what you pay for and this hotel may actually be underpriced. I don’t think you can find a better location. Right in the heart of Grenoble - we walked everywhere. They did a nice job with the windows- they kept the old-style, charming windows in place, but added what I’ll call “storm windows” that open. The result is a perfectly unobstructed view and if closed, zero street noise. Our room overlooked a busy square and we heard nothing. If a friend or family member were visiting Grenoble, I’d tell the to stay at Hôtel d'Angleterre Grenoble Centre!

Visited overnight with our dog and he even had his own bed. Perfect location and fabulous hotel. Thank you and we'll be back.

I would like to warn those who have group bookings at this hotel. There is a risk of cancellation without a clear explanation of the reasons.
If you have flexibility in location I recommend choosing another hotel.

We stayed there for one night. We checked in at 2am. They were very friendly, the system didnt work but it was all good. We got our room - the room was cute. The parking was also easy to manage.

Rooms on a good size, everything was very clean, sheets almost new and bed very comfortable, AC worked perfectly. Bathroom a bit small but worked perfectly, comfortable. Perfectly located, very close to a parking at a very reasonable price (the hotel has discount there). Breakfast is a must take here, lots of local marmalades and also local honey, excellent breads, variety of very good quality cheese and charcuterie as well as variety of fruits and yogurts. Price is perfect for both the hotel and breakfast. Service and reception by Florencia was excellent! She solved a mistake on our side on the reservation and also recommended Minimistan Bar, and local restaurant Chez Marius that we really enjoyed, young local people, really good time. Strongly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Grenoble.

The best thing about this hotel is breakfast and location. The service was kind and polite. Apart from that, the building and rooms are pretty old and worn, there were some amenities falling apart. It wasn't super clean either. My room wasn't too quiet, you could hear the neighbors, especially when someone in a nearby room was taking a shower. There are better hotels in Grenoble for similar price.

Comfortable large room overlooking Place Hugo, well located close to tram and city centre. Friendly helpful staff. It seems 3 floors are renovated and the remainder is in progress. Only downside is lack of fridge and coffee making equip.

This is a very fine hotel! You can put your car right in front of the door for check-in, then into a parkhouse at a special rate.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, everything is really clean and good-looking.
Our superior double room was beautiful and really cosy with four comfortable seats, tables, two balconies and a wonderful bathtub.
It was a perfect finish of our trip to France !

We don't have a view as we are on the backside but it's an historic building which is cool. The breakfast is nice. The rooms are old and need an update. You can hear everyone walking g above you at night and the church is a stone's throw away so when the bells go off it's pretty loud.

I have been in a budget room, the size of the room was ok, I was afraid it will be very small, but it was fine for one person. However the bathroom was really tiny with little space for movement or your own cosmetic. I kept everything in the room. The big minus is the creaking noise of the floor with every step you take... Hotel is clean, with good location, easily accessible from the train station, even on foot. The neiberhood is a plus, lots of places to go eating or shopping. I would recommend for short stay.
