Quality budget hotel where everything essential works. Not the wifi which is miserable. Almost enough hangers, hooks and shelves. The shower hanger could be better. Thanks for the good breakfast. Perhaps worth noting that there are two Ibis Part-Dieu hotels in Lyon. We went first to the wrong one. Both are within walking distance from the Part-Dieu railway station.

Hotel has a decent size room with air conditioning and. Their personnel is extremely friendly and helpful. Location: depending on how fast you walk, it’s about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the train station. Could be at least 5 minutes less, but it is unfortunate that someone decided to build a Westfield shopping center and made impossible for pedestrians to take direct(and the shortest) route. There are 2 passways underneath of shopping center: one for the cars and another one for public transportation. The one for the cars has no sidewalk at all. The other one has a sidewalk. However, it is narrows and I doubt that anyone with the luggage will be able to use it. Plus, it’s dark there and it seems like it’s the preferred place for homeless(there is a chance that you can go straight through the shopping center, but I didn’t tried it).
You can take a public transport, but the stop, closest to the hotel - and depending on how fast you walk- is about 3 to 5 minutes walk from the hotel. If you have a light luggage, it probably would be faster just walk as - most likely- you’ll have to wait a few minutes for the public transport to arrive.
Bed was Ok, but not as comfortable as it looked(and I was hoping it would be). Shower is kind of small, but biggest problem: it has holes in the middle of glass doors(so you could open and close it). However, when you are taking a shower, water is going through those holes and creating a small pool outside of shower. Therefore, when you are taking a shower, you are trying to make sure that there is no pool outside of shower doors. Also- it could be just me- I don’t like that a good old soap bar is replaced by liquid 3-1 soap.
I’ve also discovered that I was sharing bathroom with ants(I think it was ants). Didn’t see them on the day of arrival as I just dropped my stuff and left, didn’t really see them in the morning, but I saw them when I’ve returned. I was unable to report it right away as I went downstairs, but nobody was at the front desk. Didn’t felt like waiting as I was beat up after day of sightseeing. I’ve reported in the morning, during check out. Hope those ants are going to be taking care of…
As for the question whether or not I’ll be staying there again- if I’ll be visiting Lyon again, I really doubt that I’ll be visiting Lyon again. I will be considering staying in this hotel again

The management of this Ibis is VERY dishonest and deceitful. Be careful when dealing with this hotel. The amenities they advertise are not guaranteed and usually do not work. If you have a problem, their management will deny and be dishonest to avoid correcting the situation. This is what happened to me during my stay in April 2026.

Your website and booking information says “air conditioning” and it does not say anything about seasonal or operational settings! Furthermore your night front desk clerk admitted there was a problem with the air conditioning and now you claim it was working. I know it was not working - I would not have gone to another Ibis at 3:00 AM if it was working!!! Therefore your advertising is dishonest and there is a French law Article L121-2 of the French Consumer Code that requires you to be honest.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and was a pretty decent stay. Pretty small rooms and seem a little old but was still a nice experience. Close to places that can keep you occupied during the day.

a very nice, professional and put together hotel with a wonderful service. we had a slight malfunction in our room and received a very fair solution for it. perfect for a lower budget and based in a wonderful location as well! ☺️

⚠️ Big scam!!! I originally booked this hotel because it said in big letters that it had parking. When I arrived at the reception, they told me “Yes, there is parking, but it’s €20 per day” 😂😂 Fine, I agreed, but then they added “Oh, but it’s full, no more spaces available” 😂😂. The alternative? A big parking lot across the street for at least €50 per day… unbelievable. I ended up leaving my car in some small side streets in a sketchy neighborhood with no security. I couldn’t sleep all night because my car had valuable equipment inside.
As for the room, I have never in my life seen a hotel room so filthy and so tiny.
Breakfast was a complete disaster. And to top it all off, they charge €3 for a capsule espresso 😂😂 honestly, I don’t know who they think they are.
This hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
Do yourself a favor: spend €50–60 and book a real hotel.
As for the room, I have never in my life seen a hotel room so filthy and so tiny.
Breakfast was a complete disaster. And to top it all off, they charge €3 for a capsule espresso 😂😂 honestly, I don’t know who they think they are.

You go there for a value hotel.
The rooms and the bathroom are very small. But it was clean. And the aircon was well working.
The beds are not very comfortable unfortunately. They are quiet hard.
The rooms need some renovation. The hotel is updated.
But it was quiet and again you go there for a cheap price.
The staff was friendly.
Parking on the street is difficult the hotel has a underground garage but it is very expensive. I think it was 20€ per night.
The buffet breakfast was ok. 14€ per person.

The staff were all very nice and helpful. The bed was absolutely awful (old mattress or pad felt like laying on a table) and the elevators were both out of order on the last day. One was down for a couple of days prior, but they apparently did not rush to get it fixed until the other one went down. I felt bad for anyone on higher floors - at least mine was just the 4th floor. Still super inconvenient with luggage. The bathroom was super tiny and you really need to bring your own soap and shampoo - they provide some sort of hybrid soap mix but nothing for towels other than bath towels. The breakfast buffet was okay, nothing remarkable but not bad for the price. And the hotel is very well located near a tram stop, a couple blocks from the Part Dieu train station, and a few bus stops. Plus there was a huge mall across the street and Monoprix just down the street a block or two.
Again, the staff were nothing but remarkable and very helpful. Sleep was difficult for me because of the awful bed. And while small, the bathroom was functional and the cleaning staff did a nice job, too.

Obviously I would have no idea how old the mattress is, so my assumption that it was old may be incorrect. But it was still like sleeping on a mat for me; there are certainly other people who do not mind a super firm-feeling mattress. That is not for me. And, yes, I am assuming that my "Sweet Bed by IBIS" mattress would be like all the other mattresses if they are all less than 3 years old.
I also realize that the staff contacted someone quickly to get the 2nd elevator fixed - and I did not ask about the 1st elevator that had gone out a day or two beforehand. I fully understand that you are not elevator technicians and rely on a vendor for repairs.
I did mention several positive factors for the hotel including the wonderful staff. My issues were primarily the bed and both elevators being out of order - which we all understand is not under the control of the hotel. But there was also no attempt at even providing a free breakfast buffet ticket for the inconvenience of having to go up and down the stairs and the final time with luggage.
These are meant to be honest reviews and that is what I have provided. If someone does not mind a super firm mattress and a very small bathroom, this hotel will work great for you.
