Quiet room on night, but lot of noise when people is walking outside

Everything was as expected...and I have high expectations.
I used this hotel to break a drive from the UK to the South of France.
Simple room, no thrills, but absolutely fine for a budget hotel for an overnight stay.
It was clean and quiet, which are the 2 main things I ask for in a hotel.
Bathroom on the small side of course but all fine for me on that day as I was travelling alone.

The hotel is conveniently located near the highway for the one night’s stay while passing through.
I should have checked in online beforehand as the system outside in the cold was cumbersome and unnecessarily time consuming.
The room was as expected (small) but served its purpose. The shower was a great surprise: excellent water pressure & nice and hot. The window was open when we arrived and the very loud heating/cooling system took a very long and noisy time to get the room comfortable for sleeping.
The breakfast was fine and as expected.

Very good hotel. My wife and I have had a great time, specially the moment we have taken a breakfast. Thank you for that. We recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at several newer and great B&B hotels and have been satisfied. Valence Sud is not one of them and in need of renovation. The AC didn’t work as well. Staff were nice but hard to work with a product in urgent need of renovation. We will not come back.

First stay ten days ago was such a good experience that I decided to stay again in the same hotel on my way back home.

Small rooms, no place to put food that you have with you or to place iceclamps in. Clean rooms but not fresh towels if you have pets with you, but it's great it's possible they can have a place to stay. Complicated if you arrive late. A bit complicated to find the way, lots of roundabouts.
