Hotel du Tumulus in Carnac

Off the Ferry early. waited in Roscoff to buy some things from the Market. Brilliant fruit/veg and friendly people. I like Roscoff. Pretty complicated route to Carnac, but Hotel easy to find. Big Car Park. Early Check in, upgraded room, very nice beer Fabulous weather. Room had a couple of presents on the bed, appreciated. Reception excellent, English spoken throughout. Amusing watching people hike up the hill to see the Menhirs!! I liked the separate toilet. Big bed and excellent outside area. Two bottles of water in the room, the pool was very nice too. Being France the meal was pretty expensive with a nice bottle of wine. But it was excellent, The Chef can cook!! Breakfast was a high standard and plenty of it. This is a very nice Hotel. The staff are lovely. I usually ride in Spain, but I'd come back to Brittany to stay here.

Our second visit. Our room (under the restaurant area) was less big than last time, and slightly disappointing. A broken shower was repaired promptly and without fuss. The room lacks a fridge (which would have been useful) and the TV lacks stations in the English language. Other than, that we like the place very much. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The restaurant is pleasant and convenient - and really excellent by hotel standards. Breakfasts are good too, although more fresh fruit offerings would have been even better. Super, quiet garden location. The pool looked inviting but the weather wasn't warm enough this time! Still recommended.

-The lift does not reach the top floor, not a problem for us.

We really enjoyed everything about our stay: the room with a terrace of our own, the heated pool, the spa and the massages, the breakfast and the dinners, the location right next to the tumulus and with walking and bike trails as well as a short walk into town.

Wonderful visit. From reception to our departure, we were treated like welcomed friends.

Hotel located at the back of Carnac town, just below the famous Tumulus St Michel, with great views across the town and out to sea. The Tumulus is 5 minutes up the hill at the rear of the hotel. Parking at hotel. The outbuilding rooms are more expensive but worth the price with nice front gardens and a terrace. High quality finishes in the bedrooms. Friendly staff and a nice restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast also good. Nice place for a Carnac stay. Highly recommended.

Place is absolutely amazing! 1000% recommend. Nice restaurant walking distance to Carnac alignments and literally right next to the coolest church in town that’s built on top of an accent tumulus

Nice, clean hotel right at the tumulus. Very convenient with a lift and en suite toilet and shower. However, the front desk is only open until 10pm and food is $$$$.

Our first visit to Carnac and the Tumulus. What a great choice it turned out to be! The staff were the most friendly and helpful we encountered in France this year - nothing was too much trouble, and we were made to feel welcome. Location is exceptional, near the tumulus, but still an easy walk into town. Plenty of free car parking, and bicycle hire is available too. Our room was one of the newer ground floor rooms, which was quiet and spacious, and perfect for us. We did not master the heating/cooling system (the room was very warm even though the weather wasn't), but it was our fault that we didn't get round to asking for assistance. The weather also meant the pool was a little chilly, but the setting is every bit as nice as the photos show. The restaurant was closed on the day we arrived (Monday) but we had been told in advance. Dinner on the second night was very enjoyable, and the service was as we would expect. Breakfasts were also excellent and properly staffed. Happy memories all in all, and we hope to return before too long.

A terrific place to stay in Carnac. The hotel itself is great with the nicest staff, a cute little bar and easy and enjoyable walk to the Carnac stones. The restaurant is awesome for breakfast and even better for dinner. Beautiful views and away from the tour bus crowds- but a short walk down hill if you want to go in to town. Highly recommend if you are staying in Carnac!
