It’s out of town, but as a place tovisut, Corsica isn’t really about the towns. Aside from the views from the hotel itself, there are paths to the riverside not far away. Grumpy madame? Not in my experience - though that was possibly assisted by my first words being in French. Our rooom was well appointed, with more electric sockets than our previous Corsica hotels, and wi-fi that works properly. Minor exception in the bathroom, which had examples of two globally common faults - a hand sink plug that doesn’t keep water at all well, and thw shower experience where a screen along the too of the bath has a considerable gap. Breakfast is a bit of a mixed bag - some common options missing, but lots of local options including good charcuterie, though some of the cakes seemed raher dry - local style, I think. The rare human rather than a machine provding coffee didn’t really understand how English folk might like their coffee as well as some other people in Corsica. Impersonal as it may be, a machine would probably have been better for us. No restaurant, but the one just a few minutes walk up the road is very good. First of 5 Corsican hotels chosen by our holiday company with a lift, and entrances at ground and road level (different by 3 floors). If you can get a parking spot on the road, that avoids a fairly tight lower car park with a tree as an extra challenge.

Quite far out, a long uphill walk from the train station, mostly without pavements and unlit. Lovely pool and outside area, great to access swimming in the stream in the valley. Breakfast was okay but you need to argue if you book with it included in the rate as we did (they tried to charge us). The staff were unfriendly, they left at 8pm, everything closed at that time, the only way of getting food or drink after that was a vending machine but that was broken. Basic rooms with uncomfortable beds, shower took forever to get warm. The next closest hotel (Auberge) has a fantastic restaurant and was very close, but they are closed on Mondays so it was a half hour walk each way to town for food/drink. No taxis seem to be available.

An amazing location.

Beautiful hotel with lots of potential directly at the entry to Restonica Valley. The pool is nice and spacious enough, we didn't take the breakfast buffet but it looked great.
The rooms are nice and clean and spacious.
However the staff - we have never experienced something like this. As some other travellers already described, the couple seemed completely stressed and overworked. The sign stated that the pool opens at 7, but when I wanted to enter at 7:45 the owner explained to me it opens only later. Ok fine, I accepted and went upstairs again. But he then later accused me how I could expect that the pool opens at 7 already if breakfast is from 7:30 to 10am, as if I am the bad guy here.
The AC was already turned off (put to hot air) as the nights are already cold end of September, but when we left the windows open we had 20 mosquitoes in our rooms from the nearby river. The beautiful outdoor pool area was not cleaned anymore, there were leaves and dust on the chairs.
When we politely complained about these issues the couple reacted aggressively and rude. It is really a shame, this could have been a very nice stay, but this unhuman behaviour did definitely not leave positive memories for us.

There is no body at the reception after 7.00 PM. During my stay there was an electricity problem. And no body was at the reception. If any fire or emergency will occur who will help to the customers? This is irresponsibility.
On the other hand there was no notice either on booking.com or on the web that the pool is under construction. We planned to swim, which was not possible. The only favour the reception did is upgrading our room from road view to river view.

We booked with a group of other friends at the Arena le Refuge but were told that we were to be 'upgraded' to the Hotel Les Jardins de la Glaciere which was nearby. On arrival we were received by the manager/owner who gave us a hostile reception and the impression that arriving at the hotel was causing a nuisance. We enquired about eating and discovered that there was no restaurant for dinner in our 'upgraded' hotel. On asking where we could eat more hostility was encountered and we were told that we would have to walk into town some 2km. When we asked about a take away meal we were agressively told that we would have to eat it in our rooms. We asked about a restaurant in a neighbouring hotel which was clearly the competition as it wasn't mentioned to us. The manager/owner very reluctantly called the restaurant to confirm that it was open but put the phone down before we could make a booking. It was all conducted in a very unfriendly, inhospitable and rude manner. The room had problems in that the toilet did not flush in the morning and the control knob for the shower fell off. We reported this to the other manager/owner who was disbelieving, sarcastic and rude. This is the worst experience in a hotel we have ever had having travelled the world. The hotel owners/managers have the most terrible attitude towards guests and this was experienced by our travel companions too. DO NOT STAY HERE!

An altogether awful experience. The hotel had been damaged in a prior storm and was a construction site. While I sympathize with that, we didn't receive any heads-up about it and then had to endure one of the worst hotel stays we have had in many years. I rarely rate hotels on Google but this one was so bad that I felt compelled to warn fellow travellers. A hard avoid.

Beautiful location and could be a great hotel but current management don’t seem to care much and service is average to poor. Toilet seat in room was not attached! They had no tonic in the bar and no butter left for breakfast. We forgot a pair of shoes in the room but « nobody had seen them » when we called 2 days later. The price is outrageous for this hotel! 185 euros for a double room.

Really unpleasant arrival. I had written two messages informing the hotel that we would arrive 2 hours earlier, yet I did not get a reply at all. When we arrived -we had no choice as we traveled by train -the receptionist was really rude, extremely unfriendly and walked away leaving us in the smelly hotel lobby without any offer that we could use the terrace or have some drinks in the bar. There is no restaurant at the hotel. For dinner, one needs to walk 15 minutes to the restaurant „Refuge“ further up the Valley (walk along the street). The outside area is not well maintained with filthy lean chairs and dirty tables, although the area next to the riverine is really picturesque. I was ridiculed when I asked for transport (bus) to Corte at the reception. They offered us an e-Scooter for 35€ / day. I asked for a map of Corte, but the reception did not have any. The room was ok and clean. The entrance door and the toilet near the breakfast area dirty. Upon departure, I had asked for a taxi. Instead we were picked up by an ambulance (!) that charged us double to get to the train station (20€ instead of 10€ we were charged when coming).

The people who run the hotel couldn't be more unpleasant. They don't have a clue about English and everything you asked them was grimaces and snorts. We were a group of 15 and each and every one of us individually had some problem with them, and we are educated people and we just wanted to rest. They even made a face if they ran out of juice at breakfast. To top off the move, they scammed us and charged us 3 euros for each of the pool towels they left us to go to their pool, which they never notified us about until we checked out. Regrettable
