We stayed whilst having a short break. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre. It's adjacent to the railway station but with excellent insulation and double glazing we heard nothing of that. Breakfast was plentiful, but I would like to see decaffeinated coffee available without having to ask each morning. It's available in the room, and on the "Breakfast in your room " option, so why not at breakfast proper?
The room was spotless, and room service each day was very efficient.
Overall, we would return one day.
Thank you.

The hotel parking can be reached after you check in. They need to give you access codes and explain which parking it is (even though the signs are well placed inside the parking). Everything inside feels outdated: the doors, the hallways. The sink in the bathroom is super low, maybe useful for small people but annoying when you're average sized.

Dear Guest,

For your comfort, a second set of bath towels is available in the wardrobe of your room.

The entire team at Mercure Tours Centre wishes you a pleasant stay!

Such thoughtfulness, truly… Apparently, comfort starts with a second set of towels in the closet.
Too bad real comfort—genuine comfort—begins with more basic details: properly placed toilet paper rolls instead of bar-style tissues hanging on the wall, showers with ergonomic dimensions, faucets and mixers that don’t leak and are easy to adjust, a bottle of water in the fridge (which hopefully works), light bulbs that actually illuminate, towel racks that exist, beds that don’t feel like burial niches, elevators that function, and underground parking that’s actually usable… not one that forces you to park far from the hotel.

And let’s talk about the breakfast area, shall we? A bit of organization to avoid buffet bottlenecks wouldn’t hurt.

But yes, sure, the second towel set… especially when placed at a height that even non-NBA players can reach. Priorities are crystal clear.

As for the 4 stars of the Mercure… they almost make you regret not choosing the two-star hotel next door, the Ibis Budget: same quality, half the price. At least there, expectations match reality.

As a family we received an interconnected space of three rooms, which were all very clean and comfortable. The hotel has got a small parking free of charge just in front so one needs to be fast enough to get a place, otherwise the paid garage is available. The staff and the hotel manager are very kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent with high quality food and teas.

If you like your breakfast to be other than sweet croissants, brioche or jam, you might be able to find a couple of chewy slices of ham... or even tasteless fruits out of a can.
There are no healthy options... not even salad or vegs.

Extremely far from the old city, where all the tourist spots are.

Staff is extremely unmannered; not even acknowledging guests when coming in the hotel.

! This is not a 4-star hotel in international standards - only in French standards !

The hotel itself was good. Clean room without any issues. Parking was the problem. Parking is overly complicated, and the ramp caused €2,300 damage to my BMW. The ramp is quite literally the width of my 5 series. The narrowest ramp I have seen in all of France. You would have thought I was trying to bring a Phantom through that ramp because it was nearly impossible not to scrape your car. If you have a small European car, there is no issue, but if you have a larger car, you should absolutely avoid parking at this location. I absolutely regret staying there and parking there. The hotel itself is fine, but the parking situation should be avoided. Park elsewhere and walk there or take an Uber. Stay was nice and finding the location was easy enough.

Good enough. The hotel is old, but our connected rooms were very clean and we had everything we needed. Good sound isolation, slept good, no any noise. One of our room was little bit cold, no heated.

First off, a couple of positives - all staff were very friendly and very helpful and there was some free parking out front.

However, this is NOT a four star hotel. It is, at best, a 2 star hotel. The room was tiny, the sofa bed was broken, the bathroom was grimey. The room smelt of cigarette smoke. The fire alarm had been disconnected (presumably so people can smoke in the room). Exposed pipes in bathroom. Interior very outdated.

We most definitely will not be staying here again.

I was one of the lucky ones in our party, who got a decent size room. The overall impression is dated, but not completely worn down. The restaurant is for breakfast only - and you need to go to the city center to eat lunch / dinner. There is a restaurant at the Novotel down the road, but it is closed during the weekend. The elevator was stuck twice during the week we stayed - we spent the weekend in Paris - and when we came back on the evening 16th of September one elevator was not functioning - and when I pressed the button on the other elevator "Up" - nothing happened. I asked the receptionist if the elevator was working and she reacted in every shape and form - body language, deep sigh and eyes in the sky as if I was a complete ***** that I didn't know that I should have pressed "Down" - to get up. Unstable elevators is of course pretty bad - but worse was that when the elevator was too busy we tried to use the fire escape - and it was blocked on the ground floor - that is quite frankly ridiculous ad just too dangerous. I know this hotel is cheap - but it is for a good reason - use your money elsewhere.

Value for money hotel, but in scruffy area of Tours, but easy walking distance to town.
