Superb stay in a quiet location in the Black Forest with a pleasant wellness area
PROS
+ The proximity of the mountains, where superb hikes (of all levels) await you.
+ The exceptional cleanliness of the hotel! Although it has remained in its original state: the annex (containing rooms and wellness area) has been preserved as it was, 1980s?, and has not undergone any renovation.
+ The pleasant wellness area (swimming pool, 5 saunas and lots of loungers) is very warm and the different styles of sauna, particularly those with aromas, invite you to discover.
CONS
- A waitress (in the restaurant during dinner and at the breakfast buffet) always had a sullen face, which was not very welcoming, especially for a service staff member.
- Among the staff, only the manager (who is at reception) speaks a little English and unfortunately the other people only speak German, which I find strange for an establishment so close to France and welcoming foreigners.

My son stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It cost $748.65 AUD for accommodation. We fully pre paid 7 days PRIOR to my son checking into this hotel via the booking.com app. I have the app receipt and my bank statement to verify this. The hotel charged my son, travelling solo for the first time, in a non English speaking country, the FULL cost for the accommodation AGAIN. I have spent an entire day communicating back and forth to get my money back, or to get them to send booking.com my son’s payment receipt, or even to send me their direct email address so I can send them proof of my payment. They have been unhelpful and essentially said you sort it out with booking.com yourself. They have their money after all, which left my son 500 euro short for his trip in Germany.
My advice - steer clear. There are so many hotels to choose from in this area!!!!

Cosy old style hotel
Typical german service, sober but good
Diner had very fresh and delicious salad buffet. Very clean rooms.
We enjoyed a very peacefull stay with an amazing view from the balcony.
Only 2 negative points:
The hotel is not friendly for the disabled traveler. There was little choice for breakfast.
There was little choice of things to eat and the coffee was not that great.
Overall a very nice experience!

A very great hotel! Was here for 3 days for hiking. The rooms are very comfortably furnished and very clean. The breakfast is absolutely sufficient, every day fresh rolls / breads, muesli, spreads, eggs, juices, yogurt etc .. The only thing I missed here was soda. The rooms are in the adjoining building above the economy. Free parking spaces are available. I received a very warm welcome. The wellness area is also great, perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking. The hotel is a bit out of town and is therefore very quiet. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here.

Food was very good, breakfast from the buffet was classic. 5-course dinner mega-class! The room was clean, laminate flooring, the balcony was large with a table and chairs. Swimming pool very nice 28 ° C absolutely pleasant for swimming
