I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Adler in Freudenstadt, Germany.

Solid local restaurant in the very center of a Black Forest village.

There were plenty of seating options, so we were able to find a table easily. This review concerns the restaurant only, not the hotel.

Service was quick and friendly, and the staff made the effort to bring us English menus right away, which was appreciated. We tried the mixed salad, which was very well prepared and felt fresh and healthy. We also had the local specialty, trout with almonds, which was very good and nicely cooked. In addition, we ordered breaded pork schnitzels, which were simple but well done.

Side dishes were adjusted upon request and turned out very well. This is straightforward, traditional food, but offered at very honest prices and in a very convenient location. You clearly get good value for money.

A recommendable spot for a quick and satisfying lunch while visiting the village.

A warm welcome and staff were very helpful throughout. Food, drinks and service were excellent. Staff all made good recommendations. I would recommend to anyone - the blood orange spritz was especially delicious.

Great Stay
Very comfortable hotel and the restaurant was fantastic. Stayed 2 nights and would definitely return if I am in the area again.

Fantastic hotel, lovely clean rooms.
The lady on reception was brilliant a great sense of humor and very efficient.
Nice lock up garage for our motorcycles at minimal cost.
Food was pretty good.
Loved the lift.

This hotel is excellent. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely room and excellent bathroom with top class shower and excellent dinner and breakfast. Also perfectly located for exploring Freudenstadt, with the added bonus of free parking. Highly recommended.

Beautiful
Restaurant closed only the day we arrived, but someone answered the door and set us all up and had recommended restaurants. Beautiful quiet town.

Convenient for the heart of Freudenstadt, comfortable and with some parking available, I have only good things to comment about for this hotel. Owners and staff are very friendly and respectful.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Adler! We spent one night on our tour of the Black Forest. The owner, Beate, was so welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. We hadn’t make a reservation for dinner and they were busy but she managed to fit us in and we had a lovely meal, a huge choice on the menu. The room was perfect for us and our son, quirky but modern and we loved the design of the room, especially the bathroom! The breakfast was also really good. Highly recommend this hotel!
