To use the pool and fitness facilities, you had to cross the street to another building — not ideal, especially in winter

The staff often came across as disengaged, which further diminished the overall experience. The breakfast was particularly underwhelming: a small buffet, with some items already gone if you arrived later in the morning

Since the wellness pool area did not convince us and since we are of the opinion that the construction site should have been declared, we would not come back

For some time now, Engel Obertal has been my favorite escape when the days get darker and colder, it somehow makes the rainy season feel like a treat. The hotel itself is fabulous

The staff are very friendly and professional in their duties. The five course dinner was along par with what you would expect from a Michelin Star Restaurant. The Spa areas were a great experience and relaxing

Service is warm and professional, and the food is excellent, with plenty of healthy options. Every stay leaves me recharged and grateful, a true gem in the Black Forest

A dog friendly hotel with special rooms allocated. Our room was beautifully decorated, large and very comfortable. The hotel and it's garden's are immaculately kept

Fantastic hotel! We booked the Verwöhnpension, which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner—all of which were excellent. The spa area, with its indoor and outdoor pools and various saunas, was also wonderful

We had an amazing stay at the Hotel Sackmann. Everything was perfect including sauna area, pools, breakfast, dinner, coffee bar, and available walking routes around the town and near forest and small hills

The leisure facilities are excellent and my children especially loved the open air pool which was a real highlight

Excellent stay. Perfect hotel with excellent food. Nice rooms and perfect wellness. In the neighbooorhood you can do nice hiking in the Black Forrest. This is our seventh year at Sackmann and we will go back next year !

The staff were consistently warm and welcoming from the welcome drink on arrival to the daily biscuits laid out in the afternoon. The bar is also beautiful and perfect for relaxed pre dinner drinks

We were lucky enough to have snow while we were there so the children went tobogganing and then being able to warm up inside with a drink and delicious food made it a really special experience

The evening meals were wonderful and there was really no need to eat out, especially if you had had a busy day. The staff were exceptional, especially Clint in the restaurant, who was extremely efficient and friendly

Everything was well thought out, including good lighting in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. I have never seen a buffet breakfast with the number of choices that were on offer here

Nothing was too much trouble. We had room 110, overlooking the Piazza, however I would suggest that if possible you upgrade to a marina facing room - for a view of Table Mountain

Amazing Experience Amazing views, good food, great walks and two good pools

A wonderful hotel situated on the marina with views across to Table Mountain. Close to many restaurants and well as the ferry to Robben Island

The bedrooms are extremely well appointed, and include tea and coffee making facilities, the bed was very comfortable, and there was a seperate toilet

Great experience We had a 3 nights stay at Hotel Lamm, during our 3 weeks tour around Germany, this was honestly the best 3 nights. Room was spacious, it was very clean & the service was top

We enjoyed the swimming pool, don't miss out on the showers in the pool area, all I will say is try them out yourself! While many may want to seek out the restaurants with Michelin stars, don't miss this little gem by dining at the hotel restaurant; the food was outstanding! I especially enjoyed the sample platter so I could experience more than one menu item

This is one of my favourite hotels in the Black Forest, have stayed here several times now while I’m touring Europe

Had a wonderful visit to Hotel Lamm. Everything in the hotel is really well executed, amazing room with lots of space and light, really nice spa facilities and pool, great food at breakfast and again at dinner

We loved our visit at Hotel Lamm! There are so many positive points: amazing breakfast, lovely and helpful staff, a cozy spa area (the rest room is amazing), a beautiful view outside your window, and a very convenient location

The balcony had a seat so could chill out on. The restaurant was fully booked but as was a resident they found me a table, the food was lovely. The hotel isn’t actually in Baiersbronn, it’s some 2

Dining was very good, and while the breakfast was not elaborate it was tasty and staff kept the buffet stocked even during a morning rush

The room was clean, well equipped, but in the direction of the busy Federal road, thus traffic noise with the window open. The bathroom was in the 80-years-style, with a bit of funzeliger lighting, but clean

For some reason, the high quality of the breakfast / lunch did not carry over to the dinner - chef change for the evening shift? This was a remarkable disappointment to what was an otherwise excellent experience

Meals in general lack a little lightness. The bed mattress was as hard as concrete. The staff is smiling and professional. Perfect swimming pool, sauna, etc

Dinner menu is outstanding and the food was beautifully cooked. 50 for a small carafe of water is very expensive, it would be good to have a free tap water option with meals. Toiletries were only a very basic shower gel

We stayed one night at the hotel and had an overall very good experience. The staff were really friendly and happy to help with any questions. It was great that we could have dinner at the hotel restaurant

In the morning, the breakfast was also perfect, with a variety of options. Rooms can be booked either in the hotel (with a private bathroom) or in the hostel section (with a shared bathroom)

On arrival we were upgraded to a room in the Guest House which is much more convenient for the swimming pool and spa area. Our room was a generous size with a small sofa and an outside patio with loungers

+ The pleasant wellness area (swimming pool, 5 saunas and lots of loungers) is very warm and the different styles of sauna, particularly those with aromas, invite you to discover

- Among the staff, only the manager (who is at reception) speaks a little English and unfortunately the other people only speak German, which I find strange for an establishment so close to France and welcoming foreigners

+ The exceptional cleanliness of the hotel! Although it has remained in its original state: the annex (containing rooms and wellness area) has been preserved as it was, 1980s?, and has not undergone any renovation

Breakfast is served in the guest house, dinner is served in the hotel restaurant a short walk down two sets of steps. The food is excellent, breakfast was a full continental style buffet

CONS - A waitress (in the restaurant during dinner and at the breakfast buffet) always had a sullen face, which was not very welcoming, especially for a service staff member

Big dog. Small foodportions. Very clean and tidy rooms, relaxing swimming pool. Breakfast buffet is allright

Very nice staff, and excellent food on mornings and on evenings. Some places were bit hot, with a lack of ventilation, but it doesn't feel like a deal breaker. This was a very nice surprise that we can recommend.

Truly a great vacation! The Hotel in the black forest is very nice located and offers a varied Wellness program. For us it was pure relaxation! Also, the Team of the hotel has been very friendly and accommodating
