Berghotel Eisenach in Eisenach

Cons: Food: I can’t make this up!! The man who checked us in at the desk, was also our waiter, server, and probably cook. It was like I was watching a cartoon show. BEST PART? I ordered soup and a large dinner salad for my meal. He brought out a plate of risotto. I told him I didn’t order that, but I’d take it “no worries”. Our reservation was at 6:30pm and it was now 8:00 pm. We were starving! I tasted it and it was good, so I had my daughter, her husband and my husband all taste it because they were still waiting for their dinners. 2 minutes later the waiter comes back, snatches it away, walks out one door, thru another and serves it to another guest!!!! I can NOT make this up (in good conscience). Yuck!!! Then he brought me a salad that looked at least 1 day old. Ever bring home a salad from a restaurant with the dressing already on it? The lettuce was legitimately so limp and the cucumbers were see through from being dressed yesterday!! Of course I couldn’t eat it. We actually all said it may have been served to someone else and this was their leftovers!!! Room:said they had air conditioning. They do not. If THIS is air conditioning (maybe 72-74 degrees) stop saying you’re going to turn it on at the desk. Thats right. They control “when” it actually goes on. It’s been on for at least 2+ hours and it’s so stuffy it’s horrible. And this is a tiny room. Pros: pretty location if you like being way outside of any town. We had come from the city of Mainz where we loved walking around. Here it feels like The Shining.
