Excellent hotel. Very helpful owners, who gave a lot of good tips for our visit. Very well located. The hotel is very near a lot of the sights of Nuremberg and within easy reach of the train station. Spacious, comfortable room. Great breakfast.

Fabulous hotel. Warm, cosy and Christmassy. Kirstin and Tim were welcoming, efficient and could not do enough for us. Room 23 was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast delicious and lots of choice. Location of hotel excellent and so much to do in Nuremberg. Market gorgeous. Would recommend the city and this charming, family run hotel

The staff went above and beyond. One of the best hotel stays I’ve had in decades.

We visited Nürnberg for the Christkindlmarkt and were very impressed with the Franconia City. It's a small authentic family-owned and operated hotel in a great location in the old town. The operators were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and the facilities were top-notch. You can tell that the family understands travelers' needs -- the rooms are very well designed and appointed. One special and amazing surprise was the unbelievable water pressure -- probably the most relaxing shower experience of the trip. They even left us a nice fruit/candy/Christmas gift at the door! When we return to Nürnberg, we will absolutely make it a priority to stay at this property.

Very kind and welcoming staff. Impeccable room, recently renovated, with all necessary amenities. The hotel is perfectly located, 2 mins from the metro, thus ideal for business trips linked with fairs, etc. You can reach the fair in 20 minutes and door to door. Definitively recommended. Great value for money.

This small family run business was great. Dealt primarily with the son, Tim, who could not have been nicer. He provided extra bedding and even went out and bought ice to cool our drinks. There was no elevator, but we knew this coming in and Tim took our heavy bags to the room. Free wifi. We were across the street from the oldest sausage hall in Germany (c. 1419) and a 10 to 15 minute easy walk to the center of the old town (even as elderly walkers). The breakfast (extra charge) was well worth the price. Typical German breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses, fresh and pickled vegetables, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals and breads. We would definately recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Franconia City Hotel. The location is fabulous. It's about a 13 minute walk from the train station and it was a mostly level walk, with sidewalk all along the beautiful city walls. At check-in we were greeted warmly and given quick tour of the city on a map and provided excellent tips for cute streets, local sites, shops, and restaurants. That made it very easy to explore the city once we settled in. Nuremberg is excellent for walkers and it is easy to get around. The hotel is just a short walk from museums, historic sites, and shopping. Being close to the train station was also helpful if you wanted to check out sites further out that required a tram or s-bahn. The room was like having a studio apartment with a balcony and a tiny den. It was spacious and clean with all the amenities you'd need. Wifi was good. We had a comfy bed, lots of places to sit, write, or read in the room, there was a tiny room with storage, closet, safe, and a tea kettle. The bathroom was a decent size. Good shower pressure and temperature. Our balcony looked out on the courtyard/parking area for the local fire department. It was not noisy at all. It was a nice spot to drink some tea and read. One night, we saw the firemen play street hockey in the evening, which was a fun surprise. I would definitely stay here again!
