Melter Hotel & Apartments in Nurnberg

We stayed there for 6 nights. We found it a perfect hotel. It is located just instead the perimeter of the old city about a 7 mins. walk to the main railway station. The underground is only 2 mins. away. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we checked in. The room we had was very spacious and even had a kitchenette with a coffee machine. It was also very clean and fresh looking. Although the hotel didn't offer breakfast itself, it had a special breakfast buffet arrangement (at €20 per person) with the adjoining restaurant next door which was pretty good. All-in-all highly recommended.

Nice, contemporary hotel with spacious rooms. We didn't use the laundry facility or gym since we were there only for a night.

The room is comfortable with warm and welcoming decor. Particularly liked the large comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, with good water flow in the shower.

Also, breakfast was wonderful. It served at the Japanese next door, adjacent to the hotel. They had a good selection of bread, cold cuts, cereal and non-dairy milk options. Good coffee and service. You can request for eggs cooked the way you like but I only found out after we had breakfast.

Locating the hotel was challenging as we were unfamiliar with the smaller streets. And we weren't sure if we could enter the street/pavement. So, we decided to park at a nearby garage and walk over with our luggage.

Check-in was not as smooth as we'd hoped. We arrived past 8pm on a Saturday and there was no one at the desk. We got into the reception area because some guests were leaving.

We understand that there should have been a message in an email with a code for the lockbox, but we didn't receive that email or junk folders.

Due to our global eSIM data roaming plan, we couldn't dial out to the afterhours emergency number provided at the reception desk. We didn't have global roaming with our Canadian telco provider because they're notorious for charging too much for roaming.

It would be very useful for hotels to get WhatsApp business numbers that would allow for automated text messages or data calls as most travellers these days are signed up to data plans with providers like Airalo and Saily.

We managed to borrow a phone from Monki, the restaurant next door to call the emergency number for our code to the lockbox. (Again, appreciate the help from the staff at Monki!)

All's good in the end but wished we'd gone over to Monki for help earlier than the struggle chatting with hotels.com and ending up at square one.

Despite the check-in experience, we would return to this hotel again.

Excellent location and spotless rooms

We stayed at Melter Hotel & Apartments in Nuremberg and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect—right in the city center, within walking distance to everywhere.

As a family of three, we stayed in a Deluxe Apartment, which was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The layout was very well designed and practical.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great stay in terms of location, comfort, and service.

If we visit Nuremberg again, we would definitely choose this hotel again.

Great design hotel in a central location that’s easy to access from the train station. Everything in the apartment is beautiful and very thoughtfully designed. It’s one of those rare hotels that manage to achieve both great form and function at the same time. Everything you’d need for a comfortable stay is provided - great water pressure, quality kitchenware, ample room and counter space, sufficient hooks and a luggage rack. Staff were genuinely helpful. Restaurants and grocery stalls all around. Would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

We stayed for one night while passing through the city on our way from north to south.

The first thing that must be mentioned is the hotel’s location – it is truly central, right in the heart of everything.

The rooms were very clean, and everything felt fresh and new. The overall standard was impressive, and we were sorry to have such a short stay.
Almost forgot! The dog friendly approach was charming!

We stayed in two rooms for a family trip. The hotel is centrally located, making it ideal for sightseeing, and it's just a short walk from the train station, which made getting around very convenient. Although the area is busy, the rooms were well soundproofed once the windows were closed, and we had no issues with noise. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

However, one of the rooms had a noticeable fishy smell, possibly from a previous guest, which was a bit unpleasant. Also, towels were only provided for one night during our two-night stay in both rooms, which was unexpected.

Excellent location in the town, really helpful staff, neat toilet, clean and spacious room. Will recommend!

The breakfast was great and the view from the window was great. The location is great and close to the attractions
