Airport Global Hotel in Morfelden-Walldorf

All was good. For an international hotel situated near the airport I expected just a little English to be spoken. That would’ve made the check-in and check-out a little easier.

The room was nice, if a bit basic. Staff were good but had difficulty communicating in English. One bed sheet had staining on it. there were spots in the room where the wall covering were peeling off and others where the wall appeared to be blistering. Still, they were able to accommodate us despite arriving a day early and before the normal checkin time. There was good food a short drive away and the breakfast selection was fair.

The location was good and the facilities and room condition were good, but there was mold inside the refrigerator.

1. This was the first time in my life that I stayed in a hotel room without air conditioning. After I checked in, the waiter told me that there was no air conditioning. It was 28-30 degrees outside in Frankfurt during the summer at the end of June. It was very hot in the room. I was sweating immediately after taking a shower. The window in the room could not be opened. I had to go downstairs to the lobby to get air conditioning. I complained to the front desk and they ignored it.

2. I forgot to take a photo. Their curtains could not be fully drawn. They were very narrow and could not be covered no matter how much they were drawn. As soon as the day broke, the sun was so dazzling that I woke up.

3. Another thing to note is that the check-out time of this hotel is 10 o'clock in the morning. I happened to go downstairs to turn on the air conditioner. When the front desk told me to check out, I was shocked. I checked Ctrip and sure enough the check out time was ten o'clock in the morning. This is also the first time in my life that my check-out time is so early, and I still checked in very late.

4. Ctrip says “airport shuttle bus”, don’t be misled by the wording! I made a phone call when I arrived at the airport, and the hotel said they did not provide a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. I had to book a taxi online and spend nearly 30 euros. After checking out the next day, there is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport, but you need to pay an additional 10 euros for the bus (credit card is more expensive at 12 euros).

Besides that breakfast is free (from 6 to 10 o'clock) and the room is clean, so that's OK.

At minimum distance from airport to feel local. Good bus connection to airport. Reasonable standard.
