Kühn's Mühle in Oestrich-Winkel

I stayed in Kuehns Muehle during the Rheinsteig hike. It's on the hiking trail, so no ups and downs to reach a village. And there is no need to go anywhere else: they serve excellent and varied food (local and Indian), and they are very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet and cosy place to, this is it.

Its amazing hotel

This is a small hotel (pension) that a winery has developed as a sideline. It's somewhat hidden in a valley among the vineyards north of town, away from the Rhine, and therefore very quiet (though there is occasionally some noise from the well- water pump in the front yard). We arrived for the early-afternoon check-in time; at first, no one was there, but then one of the owners returned with child in tow saying she was delayed due "grandma duty".
We stayed in one of two rooms that open directly onto a terrace with the parking lot/driveway immediately in front of that, so it's sort of wheelchair accessible (I unfortunately didn't look closely at the room entrance to be able to rate it more accurately). The rest of the pension, as well as the reception, breakfast room and restaurant, is reachable via steps to a charming patio one flight up (it's pretty but, unless there's a lift somewhere that I didn't spot, not wheelchair accessible).

Conversation was in German, so I can't comment on staff readiness to speak English, but most room signs had English translations.

We were at a wine tasting with dinner and Overnight stay there. Wine tasting with very good wines from the Rheingau, good food and peaceful Stay. Recommended

Very quiet. Nice atmosphere, delicious food and generous Breakfast, with the Option of what to carry along for Hiking or Cycling
