What kind of hotel is this? Bar is closed, restaurant is closed, only accessible for breakfast. After 7pm(!) you need to do your best to get back in the hotel, and in your room: go down an alley to the side of the hotel, climb some outside stairs, where there is one door open, that will take you down some stairs, through the indoor pool, down some stairs, and up some stairs to get you back in the lobby... ***... Why is there no one in the hotel to welcome you in the evening? The reception is supposedly open until 10pm. An old guy said yesterday "I am locking this door, and am going home!" - how can your slogan be "we love our guests since 1885", when you clearly do not? PS: do not be confused with the photo of the castle - that is NOT the hotel!

Hotel Grossfeld is conveniently located near Bad Bentheim castle and a 7 minutes walk from the railway station on a rather unattractive square. The room I had was fine, but slightly outdated, just what I expected from this smalltown hotel.

Great hotel in a great town. Excellent breakfast and staff. Staff spoke english. Parking is available off-site. Small elevator which is also a plus! Overall we were very pleased. The only negative was price. We just spent 2 weeks in Germany and this was our most-expensive hotel.

The staff were so lovely, and the room was absolutely gorgeous, with a lovely terrace. Breakfast was lovely, traditional German, with plenty of variety!

Excellent breakfast (although coffee could be improved). Nice buffet-style dinner. Spacious rooms. No air conditioning though.

The hotel is good, the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is several separate buildings between them, if it is raining will have to prevent this. Breakfast is in the main building where the reception is. The breakfast is good. The rooms are very very large and comfortable. An interesting thing is the fact that the toilet is separate from the shower. Liked it
