The hotel is very centrally located, just a few meters from the pedestrian zone.

Unfortunately, because of this, people from the drug scene also hang around in the area, but that's sadly the case in every major city.

At the hotel itself, however, there are absolutely no problems. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly.

Has its Own small parkinggarage but also possible to park in a big garage.

My 2nd time staying at NH Essen, whilst on a business trip, and was pleasantly impressed.
The front desk guy was more than helpful given my arrival circumstances and even changed my room, as requested, and explained to me all of the differences between my initial booking and what options I would have.
They have a bar in the lobby however it opens in the afternoon.
The breakfast and dinning area are on a completely different floor which makes it even more accommodating.
They have amenities however they have to be requested at the front desk, slippers, grooming kit, shoehorn, etc.
They have a umbrella rental stand at the exit, making a great feature for those pesky weather moments.
At breakfast they have more than enough options from which to choose, however I would have liked to be told about the separate breakfast menu which is available on request, such as suny side fried egg and pancakes.

This is the most satisfactory stay for me in Germany…. Staying in Munich and Hannover so far this is the Best hotel for near amenities of restaurant and street Christmas market.

I stayed there during Essen spiel.
The mini-fridge in the rooms do not cool anything at all and might as well not have existed.
Since I have diabetes and need to keep my medicine cold, it was an issue.

Luckily, the staff accomodated my needs by keeping my medicine in the fridge at the lobby bar. But I wonder if they could have handled 10 diabetics at once.

All the being said, the service was very good.

Special note to Christian, who was very solicit, polite and fast at attending my every request.

The room was spacier than we expected, and the service was very friendly - especially the charming gentleman from Martinique at reception who we had nice conversations with and who came with treats for our son. It’s also a great touch that they serve apples, sweets and coffee at reception, and on our second day we got a sweet surprise in our room. The gym was small but clean. Highly recommend, also because of affordability.

It's very convenient in the old city center and close to various restaurants, 10 minutes walk to the train train station.

My stay was absolutely lovely, the location of the hotel is ideal, room was big, cozy and clean with all the needed anemities. After work, when came back i even found a cake to make the stay even more pleasurable. I loved also the bar downstairs and the staff is always so helpful and nice. Thank you for an amazing coffee, Christian! It made my day!
