Had a great time. Good locations towards Essen Central Station. The staff was quick to check-in and overall facilities state was polished.
Certainly recommended.

Hotel stay was nice, good bedding, I enjoy the relaxed Moxy style. Make sure you have no issues with your payment though - I stayed here one week ago for one night and used the parking lot. 1 day later I found on my credit card statements that they had charged me the parking twice. No problem and should be easy to correct, but no - I immediately wrote an email, no reaction, tried calling them 3 different days and times - nobody taking the phone. This is getting annoying, so at the moment I cannot really recommend to go here, this is basic stuff that needs proper handling and we are talking about a Marriott here so I have some expectations.

Price - performance absolutely fair. Good location near main station.
It's the style, but the staff a bit too informal for my taste. But that is more personal option. Others may like it. Nothing to complain.

We were very happy that the room was ready at our arrival one hour before official check in time. The room was big enough, the bed was comfortable and I really liked the small sitting area next to the bed. The room was refreshed during our two night stay. There is also an ironing room available for the guests. We had a fun evening playing ping pong at the bar.

Basically all you need, good priced room and decent bed. BUT the downstairs cafe sells things priced a bit too high. €5,50 for a single water is a bit much. Luckily the Hauptbanhoff is close enough to walk to Lidl or Aldi, great location.

Only real complaint is the window barely opens. You want fresh air, but you can't really get it. Good internet and otherwise nice place to stay in Essen.

Rooms were small and we missed a few things. The hotel is more fun when youre at the ground floor with somebody else where you can play games like table tennis and table football. The location is exactly in the center with a big shopping street being 2 minutes away. The people at the bar are also very nice. There aren't any different types of rooms.
