Hotel Circle Inn in Ramstein

I stayed at the Circle Inn on business this week. The initial impression is good with a lovely garden out the front. The reception area is welcoming and the staff were friendly and efficient throughout. I was in Room 32 which was located upstairs. The other reviews accurately reflect the very strong smell of air freshener which hits you when you enter the upper corridor and continues in the room. The rooms are large and well equipped with a microwave, fridge and table in addition to the normal attributes. The decor was dated and not to my taste, however the significant bleach marks on the carpet and horrible drip marks down the bathroom door of indeterminate origin, looked like blood but I suspect not as they would not come off when I tried with a cloth, were very off putting. I have to say the room was otherwise very clean but the towels were small and rather scratchy and free wifi kept dropping out. Breakfast was served downstairs and included a good range of items including freshly cooked eggs. When I checked out I was not asked about my stay - a key element of customer service for me - however I did offer my feedback over the room. Overall not up to the standard I would normally expect from a buisness hotel. A real shame as it has much promise but is in need of a refurb. The place was busy while I was there so perhaps not all the rooms are the same and it works for other audiences - also I have not stayed in other establishments in the area so do not know how it compares to the norm - nonetheless I would not stay here again when on busienss in the area
