I had a great stay at a&o Hostel Dresden Hauptbahnhof. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the main train station, which makes it easy to explore the city and travel around. The rooms and common areas were clean and comfortable, and everything was well maintained.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions. For the price, the hostel offers excellent value and good facilities. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend it to travelers looking for affordable accommodation in Dresden.

I regret to state that the individual working at the reception desk is clearly unfit for the position. Upon arrival, the room assigned to me was unclean. I formally requested either a room change or, if a standard bed was unavailable, a bunk bed instead. Additionally, I asked for the bed covers and other basic amenities to be replaced.
Rather than resolving these reasonable requests, the receptionist merely handed me the items and stated that this is a two-star hotel and that I would have to handle the matter myself. Such a response is entirely unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of professionalism and customer service.
In contrast, other reception staff members, such as Jim and his colleagues, have been outstanding and demonstrate the proper standards of hospitality and customer care. I had previously heard that customer service in Germany can be lacking, and regrettably, this experience has reinforced that perception. It is disappointing to encounter such conduct, as it does not reflect the level of service one reasonably expects, regardless of the hotel’s rating.

It's a very pleasant place to stay, and it has great prices. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms are perfectly adequate and have everything you need to be comfortable, and if you're like me and prefer to cook your own meals, they have a well-equipped kitchen. Definitely highly recommended… they're very close to the central station, just a 10-minute walk. 10/10

Close enough to everything you might want to see in Dresden, most of it is just a bus or tram ride away. Hostel was clean, safe and staff were friendly. Near a close restaurant that delivers food by metal railings.

Stayed for one night, with my friend. Considering the price, facility, location, room condition was quite nice.
And the staff service was the best. There was an unexpected strong smell of cigarette in the room, but when I informed this to the front desk, the staff immediately apologized and kindly gave us new room. New room was in great condition. Overall, it was a pleasant stay!

I always stay here overnight when I visit metal shows in Dresden and this place has everything I need and it is so affordable! I had booked one night at the 6 bed mixed dorm and upon arrival, I was offered to stay in the all-female-dorm with no extra costs. I was so happy about that offer, it made me feel more safe! We were only two and had the best conversations all night long. The room was neat and clean, with all facilites one needs to have a good rest. Staff was super helpful and friendly

Staffs were friendly. Booking process is good but when I tried to check-in online it asked me to pay bed maintenance fee which was quite dissatisfying and disappointing. You say we can save some % if we book with you directly but asking this money felt almost similar with online booking fee. Location was ok. Clean hostels. I didn’t ate breakfast nor packed lunch/dinner because it was not included and neither i paid so I prefer not to score. I don’t know why you charge double in weekends. I stayed only 1night so it was good. I know we could have asked for things like toilet paper but late at night it got over. Just a suggestion if they can keep extra not just 2 if there is big capacity of the room. If you can come up to enhance your corridors. It felt scary or uncomfortable… I don’t know how to say but felt like spooky. Thanks for the service. Please accept cash as well. Because not all travellers have credit card or forex cards.
