Hilltop in Hanioti

Very disappointed with this hotel!! The staff did not make me or my two teenagers feel welcome. Our only annual holiday and yes I picked here! The reviews are great, and that’s why I booked it, however, the staff were just not what you would expect from a holiday hotel. Yes, they were polite, but otherwise I was left to feel pretty much unwelcome. No-one attempted to interact with my older teenagers, no-one asked is ‘there anything I can help with?’ Or, ‘what plans do you have for the day?’ When I asked the staff if they could book me a taxi every occasion was answered with ‘there aren’t any!’ On one occasion we waited 2hrs, with two staff members on the reception of a not so busy time, you may expect one of them to offer to drive us themselves, but no! Plenty of time for cigarette breaks though! When ordering a mojito at the bar in the evening, a clearly unhappy waitress took 10 minutes making this, with her back to me, making me feel very uneasy. I ended up drinking wine as it was quicker and less hassle for everyone. The staff member serving the hot food at breakfast, just stared at me, so miserable, no ‘good morning,’ nothing. On check out, the guy took my key and walked off without offering to help with my suitcases down the steps, I ended up having to ask him when he reappeared. I think I’ve said enough, suffice to say I will never return to this hotel! Yes, me and my teenagers found alternative ways to enjoy this holiday, however, this hotel will never be listed as ‘enjoyable’.Yes, it was clean and tidy that’s the only thing in its favour out of my experience.
