Cavo Blue Coastal Living in Polykhrono

I recently stayed in a regular comfort room with my 12 yr old son. I had to ask him to sleep on the side bed (next to the kitchen sink) because the two of us in the “big” bed was just too tight.

They really could put regular queen sized beds in the rooms, what they have is definitely smaller (twin size I think) and two grown adults really wouldn’t be comfortable here. I’ve seen families with two adults and a child stay at this place, but not sure how their sleep went. Yes they have Family rooms but really the only difference is that this one side/single bed has a bed underneath that comes out to make another single Marta’s basically. The rooms are tiny so if you’re a big family be ready to be crammed a bit…

The positives: The rooms are nice and modern, and clean. We did have some spiders on the walls, but ok. The location is great, right on the beach, and it’s especially nice of course if you get the sea view rooms, which there are only 4 (two on bottom floor, two on the second floor) in the first building in the front.

There is a downside to getting the “nice” room on the ground floor. While you’re trying to enjoy your privacy, and sea view, you are sitting literally by the entrance walkway to the complex, so everyone who passes by must look at you and what you’re eating.

On top of that fun part, the people who have the ground room next to yours always decide it’s a good idea to just cut across your terrace/grass area in order to get to theirs, as “a shortcut,” bringing along all their sand and dirt on your porch, instead of walking the extra 5 steps to their door around the corner, like decent human beings. And this wasn’t just a one time thing, I’ve stayed at this place two years, several families residing in the same room next door, and yes every single one of them thinks it’s ok to just walk right across your lawn. Even thought I tried putting some barriers (drying rack, chair) to hint that they shouldn’t pass here, there was always a child or two who decided to see this as an obstacle and maneuver around anyways!

Another ‘small’ note - The walls are like made of paper, you hear when the people above you walk, stomp, baby crying, and especiallyyyy annoying is the sound of screeching chairs every time someone, next door or above you, is moving a chair on their balcony or moving the one chair in the room; the noise is super loud and kept me up at night several times. I had to sleep with ear plugs, which isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world. I already suggested to the “manager” that they can simply put special soft stickers for furniture in order to avoid this ridiculous sound.

Aside from this, generally yes it’s a lovely place, nice sandy beach about 30m to the right (Olivo) which has ridiculously expensive prices but that’s a different story. The water in front of Cavo is huge rocks and personally not for me or kids, but yes just a few steps to the right you have nice sandy waters.

Positive things: very kind staff, free parking, location in front of the sea.

Negative: small rooms for families, and not so clean. Not worth for the money you pay

Information: big rocks in the entrance of the sea, not so good for swimming.
