Gouvia Hotel in Gouvia

I am currently staying at this small hotel. The best part about the stay, by far, has been the staff. They are all extremely helpful and hospitable. For example, the woman that checked me in later greeted me in the morning and gave me a verbal tour of the breakfast area. The worst part for me has been the breakfast. While the selection is reasonable, I expected a higher quality breakfast from a 3 star hotel. Everything aside from the scrambled eggs (which are okay) have tasted extremely cheap. The coffee and juice from the machine are almost undrinkable. I found it ridiculous that they were advertising the breakfast buffet at the entrance to the general public for 10€.

The room has been renovated but remains very basic. The shower is extremely small. Larger people will require maneuvering or standing with one foot outside the shower. The air conditioner works well. They have a bar which doesn't seem to get used much (perhaps earlier in the season.)

The hotel has the potential to reach 3 stars, but I would rate this as a very good 2 star hotel. Maybe the price can be justified with the location, but I've definitely had better stays in the ~65€ price range. Again, though, the staff are what make this place a good choice for staying.

Just spent a week at this hotel and absolutely loved it. The rooms are lovely and clean, breakfast has a great selection, staff are friendly and it is right in the centre of all the restaurants, bars, shops and literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. I'll definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it

Nice pool. Friendly helpful staff. Lots of decent eating places within a few minutes walk. 5 minutes walk from excellent public transport links both to Corfu town and all the northern and western beach resorts and towns.

Lovely little hotel with friendly staff breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed our pina coladas on an evening

Very central hotel , lovely staff , only downside was that the bathroom is tiny but this didn’t impact any of our holiday

Lovely little hotel a stones throw away from a pretty little pebble bay perfect for a refreshing dip. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly at all times. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful with a lovely large pool and lots of sun beds, the whole hotel is kept clean and our rooms were refreshed daily with clean towels and bath mats, beds made and bins emptied. The rooms were of a good size for us as we only use them as a base for exploring, lots of storage, a hairdryer and tv. The aircon unit is noisy and old so could do with replacing, the downside being a dated and tiny bathroom with a very tiny window that did not open, so by the end of the week it was very damp and smelly. The water is mixed with salt water. Food was delicious, we are not fussy and like to try everything, no English tea so take your own if you like a morning cuppa. Gouvia is the perfect base to explore Corfu, the local shop and bar owners are super helpful and friendly.
