Govino Bay in Gouvia

We stayed here 03/09 - 07/09/2025. We arrived at just after midnight, had to wait around 25 mins for somebody to arrive at reception & show us to our room; I then had to walk a long way and up a few hills with three suitcases; whilst my pregnant wife carried our two year old & had my 9 year old walk with her - the guy showing us to our room didn't ever bother the offer to help with the bags or children and just walked ahead!! Apart from him, the staff were actually really nice/helpful. The rooms are very very dated, but comfortable enough to stay in and there was plenty of room for two adults & two kids. Kitchenette is pretty useless (beware if you're thinking of self-catering!). There is plenty of shops/bars/restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. One big plus is the pool area; the kids loved it and it never got too busy. Food and drinks are also good at the pool bar. In short, I'd day that if you're doing as we did - a short 'cheap' stay (as we were only in Corfu for a wedding), then this place is absolutely fine for a few days. However, I definitely would think of booking one of the many near-by hotels if you're thinking of a proper holiday for a week or more!

I would say this hotel is suitable if you are mainly looking for a place to sleep while spending your days at the beach. The rooms can be quite noisy, as the building is relativily old and its possible to hear sounds from rooms above, such as footsteps or doors closing. I recommend booking rooms on the upper floors to avoid being disturbed by noise from others guest in the middle of the night. The rooms are clean, thogh somewhat outdated. The pool is large and pleasant, and the hotel also offers ample parking space.

Spacious rooms, a little dated. Was not aware of spiral staircase to bedrooms which for us with 3 out of 5 with bad knees was not good. Air conditioning only in lounge/kitchen area, none in bedrooms which made it a bit uncomfortable. Housekeeping was tremendous with daily towels, bed change and cleaning . Maintenance chap very helpful. Pool needs better access in/out of pool but it was clean. Plenty of kitchenware and there was good water pressure for showers

It was great that they checked us in really late after our flight was cancelled but there was no bedding for the sofa bed even though we booked for six people.
