Reviews
The location is excellent – only about an 8-minute walk from both the town center and the beach.
The breakfast selection is rather small, but we always found everything we wanted. The hot egg dishes changed daily – from scrambled eggs to fried eggs or an omelette, which was a nice touch.
Our room was clean and had a balcony. If your room is on the north side of the hotel, it can be a bit noisier, as the balconies face the street.
The prices at the pool bar and main bar were absolutely fair.
What impressed us the most was how friendly all the staff were – warm and welcoming, but never overbearing. We have honestly never been to a place with friendlier people! The manager, Spiros, had wonderful energy and made sure everyone entered and left the breakfast room with a big smile, which we really appreciated.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Pegasus Hotel and will definitely come back!
Where do I start.
Check in process was straight forward, checked in by a friendly lady, asked to pay the levy immediately and given our room key.
So many steps to navigate with your cases, no offer of any assistance.
Our room was very tiny, 3 beds all next to one another.
The beds are like sleeping on paving slabs, absolutely awful.
Wardrobe doors squeezed like mad and hit the room door every time they opened and shut.
The fridge was absolutely tiny and didn't work, it only left puddles in the bottom of it.
In fact the room was really dated and desperately needs a refurb.
The bathroom was decent and modern except the bizarre reason to put the folding glass screen on the side of it and not the front, as you can expect the water went everywhere including over the toilet.
Outside there is a nice bar in the middle of the pool which was only open once in our week, not surprising though as the weather wasn't the best.
But still a lovely outside area with plenty of sun loungers.
There was also a Snackbar which had a small menu but that was hardly open too.
Inside at the bar there was never anyone in there or any atmosphere.
Again the lounge area is in serious need of a renovation, it was like going back to the 80s.
The breakfast, well that was an experience.
Cold beans and cold scrambled eggs were daily staples, boiled eggs that must have been boiled for 30 minutes.
A few pain au chocolate and mini croissants and the odd slice of dry sponge cake were available.
The orange juice was like excessively watered down cheap squash.
There was also ham, cheese and some salad, honey and Greek yoghurt.
The hot drinks made very nice hot chocolate.
Every day at breakfast serenity & wellness music of bells, chimes and birds tweeting greeted you from loud speakers, after 2 mornings, that was enough of the din and we went elsewhere for breakfast before we all went out of our minds.
We absolutely hated that music forced upon us all every morning, we wasn't the only ones either that hated it.
It was so annoying and ridiculous.
On checking out of the hotel, we had no, did you have a nice stay or was everything up to standard from the receptionist.
In fact zero communication from any of the staff all week.
After staying at the outstanding Pristine hotel in Sidari for the last 2 years, we found this hotel a real disappointment and we won't be stopping there again.
Overall, very disappointing which was a shame.
My advice to the hotel is refurb/ modernise it and get some atmosphere in the place.
Roda and Acharavi are really lovely places with some fantastic restaurants and coffee shops.
A special shout out to Restaurant Drosia, La Merida and the Smurf Cafe for serving quality food with exceptional service.
