Several guests praised the cleanliness of rooms and public areas, noting daily housekeeping and tidy grounds. The variety of pools, bars, and the three themed à la carte restaurants received positive mentions, with some describing food quality as good and varied. The location and panoramic views of the bay are frequently highlighted as a strong point, providing a scenic setting for the stay. Staff members such as Tommy, Aristidhi, George, and Sergio were singled out for excellent service and attentiveness. The children’s facilities including playgrounds, kids’ clubs, and daily animation programs were appreciated by families. Multiple reviews criticized the hotel’s maintenance, citing broken tiles, plumbing issues, and unpleasant odors near pools and bars. Several guests found the all-inclusive drinks to be of poor quality, with cocktails described as sugary and beer and wine as undrinkable. Swim-up pool rooms were frequently mentioned as dark, cold, and not worth the extra cost due to lack of sunlight. The hotel’s 5-star classification was questioned by many reviewers who reported tired furnishings, inconsistent housekeeping, and a general lack of investment. Some guests experienced issues with room bookings not matching their reservations, missing amenities such as hairdryers, and additional charges like tourist tax and safe key fees.

Description

Lindos Royal Resort - All Inclusive is a large 5-star hotel complex built in 1999 and renovated as recently as 2012, located on the southeastern coast of Rhodes. The resort features 387 rooms across a main six-story building and several three-story annexes, offering a variety of room types including suites and family rooms with inland or sea views, some with shared pools. The property includes five outdoor freshwater pools, three themed à la carte restaurants (Greek, Italian, and a grill), and multiple bars. While the hotel advertises extensive amenities such as tennis courts, children’s clubs, and spa access at the nearby Lindos Village Resort & SPA, guest reviews reveal a mix of satisfaction and criticism, especially concerning maintenance and food quality. Guests will find a well-maintained green area and panoramic views of Vliha Bay, but should be aware that the terrain includes many steps and slopes, making access difficult for guests with mobility issues. The resort suits active families seeking a wide range of daytime activities and evening entertainment, though some facilities may feel dated.

Location

The hotel is situated on the periphery of the South Aegean Islands on Rhodes island, about 4 km from the village of Lindos and 45 km from Rhodes city and the Diagoras Airport (RHO). The nearest beach, Kalathos Beach, is 380 meters away, with a rocky hotel beach on site featuring an equipped sea entrance. Public transport is accessible with a bus stop 500 meters from the hotel. Nearby dining includes the highly rated CANTEENE Vlicha restaurant just 252 meters away. The hotel’s elevated position offers panoramic views of Vliha Bay but requires navigating a steep descent to the beach. Guests arriving by car can use the free on-site parking, and currency exchange facilities are available within the hotel.

Tips

  • Book rooms early if you want to secure a spot in the themed à la carte restaurants, as they can fill quickly.
  • Bring a sleeping mask if you are sensitive to light, since some rooms lack full curtains.
  • Be prepared for possible extra charges such as a tourist tax on arrival and a deposit for pool towels.
  • If you have mobility issues, consider the terrain carefully before booking, as the resort is on an elevated site with many stairs.

The Good For a week-long all-inclusive holiday, the price was relatively affordable. The main restaurant food was acceptable but nothing exceptional, slightly better than the standard all-inclusive buffet (i.e., not just chicken nuggets and chips every day). That said, some dishes did feel like leftovers from the previous night’s themed restaurants. The Bad It’s difficult to understand how this hotel maintains a 5-star rating, or why it’s still classified as such by regulators. This becomes especially frustrating when you’re required to pay a tourist tax on arrival, before having the chance to realise the hotel falls far short of that standard. First impressions are misleading, the grand foyer and buggy ride to your room create a sense of luxury, but that feeling disappears the moment you leave reception. Notably, the same buggy service wasn’t offered when we were checking out with multiple heavy bags. The all-inclusive drinks are extremely poor. Cocktails are made with low-quality spirits and overly sugary mixers, the beer tastes artificial, and the wine is genuinely undrinkable. The swimming pools are another major disappointment. Despite Lindos temperatures in the low 30s, they were freezing cold and poorly maintained. Issues included loose steps, missing or sharp tiles, and visible grime along the surfaces and walls. The themed restaurants were underwhelming. Service was poor, drink options were low quality (and came at an extra (inflated) cost), and menus were so limited that if you didn’t like the options, your only choice was to leave and return to the main buffet. Charging extra for pool towels over the course of a week also felt unnecessary and out of place for a supposed 5-star resort. The Terrible The internal swim-up rooms are particularly disappointing. They receive almost no natural light due to the surrounding building structure, leaving both the room and pool area cold and uninviting. Paying extra for this type of room feels unjustified. Even after upgrading to an external swim-up room, we found it remained in shade for most of the day, making the upgrade poor value overall. I would strongly advise against booking a swim-up room here. The number of stray cats is also a serious issue. They are everywhere, including inside the restaurant, where they feed on leftover food from unattended plates. One even managed to get into our room, which was both unpleasant and unhygienic. Air conditioning was another major problem. It was not working during our stay and, judging by previous reviews, appears to have been an ongoing issue for years. This is completely unacceptable, especially in such a hot climate. Overall I cannot recommend Lindos Royal Resort. While it may once have been a high-quality hotel, it is now clearly suffering from years of poor maintenance and lack of investment. The facilities, rooms, and overall environment feel run-down and neglected. Unfortunately, this is not the 5-star experience it claims to offer.

As others have stated didn't get room i booked, although I emailed hotel prior arrival to confirm. Arrived late at night, went to reception but told to come back next day. Lady at reception confirmed my e mail but said room booking was admin error! Eventually moved to a swim up room. No hairdryer. Reception advised not all rooms have hairdryers, yet they claim to be a 5 star hotel. I was told to buy one from the supermarket! Food lukewarm, drinks awful. Ended up eating in Lindos most nights. At checkout charged for bottle of wine we already paid for. I asked to see copy of their receipt, it wasn't my signature but no apology from reception.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel as it was highly recommended by Tui. In reality it was extremely poor, rundown & dirty. Our room was basic but clean, the balcony was filthy. We immediately spoke to the Receptionist and requested another room but they said this wasn't possible. The rest of the hotel was dirty with broken tiles and a lot of basic maintenance and cleaning required. The drinks from the bar were disgusting. Wine poured from a pump and dispensed into paper cups. How Tui rate this hotel 5 stars is a joke and a con.

Exceptionally poor standard of hotel. Visited as a family of 4 generations. Hotel is not fit for purpose. Hazardous areas throughout the hotel. Leaks in bar areas causing floors to become very slippy, roof fell down in pool bar during stormy weather. Pools dirty, no lifeguards. Food fine but repetitive. Drinks poor stick to beer. Stench of sewerage at pool bar and adjacent to our seaview junior suite. Needs fully refurbished definitely would not recommend not suitable for young children. Left with bug bites , headache due to falling down steps , everyone of us was sick at some point. The staff in restsaurants and bar were nice but had an air of desperation for the season to end and run for the hills. I dont blame them. Not for the faint hearted but if you like a challenge of endurance then this may be the hotel for you !

We stayed at Lindos Royal as a family of 13, 3 generations ranging from 5 to 70 years old, staying in 4 apartments. The hotel was superb, rooms kept very clean and tidy as well as the whole complex. Lots of different pools and areas to sit and bars for snacks and drinks. It was my first experience of booking all inclusive and this type of holiday in 50 years, and I wasn't sure it would be for me, but I have to say that it was fantastic, food was plentiful, a huge range and great quality throughout. The drinks are ok and available as you want them. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The temperature was a perfect 25 deg C daytime, and 18 deg evenings. We didn't book the holiday as a package and the hotel cost was surprisingly good booked separately. I would recommend the Lindos Royal to anyone.

We booked this holiday through EasyJet and as always the flights and transfers were excellent. arriving at the hotel it felt clean, classy and five star and I am sure in It’s day it was. We were given a family room and not a superior double, the hotel staff were very good and swapped our room the next day. The rooms are a little tired but clean, although there is an awful smell in the bathroom most of the time and it wasn’t me.. Note - 25€ for a safe key. Remember also as classed as first class, the tourist tax is 15€ per night per room. Our first full day (Sunday 26th October) breakfast was good and there was a grill station for fresh eggs, omelettes and sausages. There was plenty of hot food and it felt like it was to be a good week food wise. Well by Tuesday the grill station had closed and by Wednesday the Pizza & pasta station had closed. The food choices become less and less as the week went on and to be frank, not acceptable for any hotel, let alone a 5 star. Coffee station was closed all week, there was only one themed restaurant available to book. Nice food but was very rushed. Literally stopped eating the starter and the main was out. Oh and by the way, you have to pay for the drinks in the theme restaurants. There were plenty of sunbathing areas and the pools were clean and tidy, the hotel had a great outdoor set up but as the week went on, they literally shut everything down around us. The kid’s entertainment disappeared on the Monday. The evening entertainment was ok but held in a horrible small room with very poor choice of lighting and mould on the ceiling. In fact all activities were non existent after Monday apart from at night. The all inclusive alcohol was shocking, to the point we did not bother and went out all but two nights of the 7. You can buy good alcohol from the bar upstairs but let’s be honest, you go on an all inclusive for a reason. Unless you paid for a drink, all drinks were served in plastic beakers, even in the evening; which we’ve not had before. As the week went on and the hotel was shutting down around us, we felt like we were getting in the way. Our water in the room stopped working twice and the hot water stopped twice also. The TV was on the blink and a couple of other small issues cropped up. There was constant building work taking place from day one. With drilling, grinding and banging. There were building supplies in our corridor from the day we arrived. The beach area set up for the hotel, with sun beds and umbrellas were all taken away by the Tuesday also. There is a shop on site and a mini market down by the beach. Lindos town is stunning and we had 3 lovely meals out in total. The views from the hotel and across Lindos (separate bay) are absolutely stunning and well worth some of the pain but if you book this hotel in the very last week of the season, just be prepared. And before the holiday snobs, say what do you expect for the last week. We do the last week every year but have ne

This was my first trip to the Island of Rhodes it was absolutely magical. The hotel was very nice, the views were spectacular! I went all over the Island this is probably the best place on Earth. The food at the resort is good. The staff is helpful. Tommy went above and beyond and made sure that all our needs had been met. Without him my family and I would have been lost. He made us feel at home. The only negative thing I can really say is that the weather was not ideal so it made it hard to enjoy the beach. Luckily they have nice amenities. We were still able to enjoy the pool and good food! I want to say a big THANK YOJ to Tommy. The reviews for the resort were mixed after visiting and with the assistance of Tommy I give it 5 stars. Rhodes is great!!!! We will be back!

A special and enthusiastic mention must be given to Tommy. He was super helpful, demonstrated 100% customer care, and made us feel like truly valued guests. There was nothing he couldn't fix, and he is a real asset to the hotel.

We have just cone back from 10 nights… 2 families with 4 children (5-14). We were a little worried about some of the reviews we saw before we left and I’d like to reassure anyone reading them that this is a lovely hotel! Food was great… book early to get the a la Carte restaurants… they are fantastic. Didn’t expect that quality of food in an all inclusive. The main restaurant buffet has excellent choice and the food is lovely quality. The pool bars are good.. staff are lovely and the local beer is nice. Cocktails are your standard all inclusive! The beach attached to the hotel is fantastic, we spent hours snorkelling in the clear waters and you can always get beds at the beach and pools. The air con wasn’t the coldest but it was fine, room cleaned regularly and we had a beautiful view from our balcony! No kettles in rooms but we would get a takeaway coffee from the restaurant to drink on the balcony. There are a couple of areas in the resort that need a little sprucing but nothing that affected the quality of our stay! Would recommend!! Thanks to all who made our stay so nice
