We are very disappointed in Oia Mare. Due to serious health issues we had to postpone our trip to Greece scheduled for August 2025. Yes, we read the no refund policy but there were extenuating circumstances for which the management would not issue a credit. We did not ask for a refund. We requested to use the money we had paid, for a trip this August. The response was NO. Again, as per the policy.
There may come a time where your hotel may request a little understanding and leniency from a client, vendor or banker and you are told the "policy" stated is set in stone. NO EXCEPTIONS

Where do I begin?
From the nightmarish steps to get there or straight to the most breathtaking spot on the planet?
It was magical! After gulping down the orange juice (was it orange?)they offered while checking in (God, we needed it! Actually I offered mine to the porter ( I can't remember his name) because I felt so bad after carrying two heavy luggages through all those deadly steps! That should be a part of the labours of Hercules!), we sat down and looked at the magnificent views before us and we just paused, and enjoyed that moment.
We had an excellent view of the famous Santorini sunset. We would sit on our chairs, sipped on our wine and watch the most spectacular performance of the setting sun.
The room was clean, it had everything we needed. The lady who cleaned our room was very nice and accommodating.
The breakfast area was relaxing. There was nothing to complain about (with that view, come on!).
The hot tubs offer a very decent amount of privacy considering some of the places we have seen where people pass by literally beside you while you are lounging in the tub. It was so quiet at night, it was so peaceful and relaxing. If we are going back to Santorini within the next five years, we would definitely stay again at the Oia Mare Villas.
I just have to emphasize this point:
To get there, you need strong knees, you need to be physically able to climb up and down hundreds of uneven, precarious steps. It should be declared on their website the challenge it takes to get to the place because it is tough.
On this note, please be generous and kind to the porter.

A beautiful property with great view. We had an incident regarding breakfast but the rest of our stay was nothing but wonderful so I am updating my review. I believe the chef did make an effort to address the issue with a friendly greeting later when we met. All staff were great.
The private villas can get a little noisy with visitors ignoring the guest only sign and the pool side a little crazy in the late afternoon depending on guests, but hey we are all here in Santorini for some fun :). We will return. Thank you for your hospitality.

Don’t fret the 1 star reviews, most of them sound like entitled tourists who couldn’t read the details when booking.

We stayed 4 nights of our honeymoon/ 1 year anniversary here.

Our check in process was seamless, took 5 minutes and were given complimentary champagne when we arrived. Staff carried luggage from the airport shuttle to the room, down and bunch of stairs.
The free airport shuttle is only if you book direct through their website, if you book through 3rd party sites, expect a $55 charge per 2 people for airport transfer. This is totally reasonable, and the transfer staff were in the arrivals at the airport with a big sign. Driver was super friendly and provided water as soon as we got in the shuttle.

Driver explained many things to do and see on the 20 minute ride to the resort.

We booked a cave suit with hot tub. It was a very large room and AC was cold. The hot tub was slightly in the cave but honestly this was way better than it being out in the sun.

Breakfast was good, I’d say 4/5. Could use some more “American” options but that’s just me being from North America. A self serve espresso/ cappuccino machine at breakfast would go a long way at a small cost to the resort.

Our room was clean and modern, very nice bathroom.

Front desk staff were very helpful in booking ATV rentals, restaurant reservations and overall recommendations.

Very few resorts / rooms in Oia have an actual sunset view, but this resort has its own private rooftop patio for viewing the sunset. Literally 1000s of people cling to any west facing staircase every night at sunset, and it felt nice to have our own space for viewing it without fighting shoulder to shoulder with tourists.

We booked a cave suite with hot tub for our honeymoon. It was really excellent. We booked a transfer through the hotel, which was 55 euros each way. They had porters to take our luggage down the immense amount of stairs. The hotel was in a great spot in Oia. Lovely pool and lots of sun beds. Our room was very spacious, we loved the hot tub in the evenings when things cooled down. The hotel was awesome when we departed. We had a very late flight after check out at 11. The staff graciously let us continue to use the pool, sun beds, bar service, and offered showers and stored our luggage until they had a porter take them up to the transfer area. Really great experience and would recommend staying here in Oia!

We had a lovely stay at Oia Mare a few months ago. The room was lovely and we enjoyed having a small personal pool as well as some lounge chairs on our deck. The staff was very accommodating when it came to arranging our bags both on arrival and at checkout. We were so thankful for the transfer from the airport, and the staff who carried our bags up and down the Santorini stairs. The staff was very helpful in scheduling dinner reservations for us as well.

We found the breakfast to be satisfactory, providing us both with what we needed to start the day!

Unfortunately, like a few others in these reviews, both my husband and I experienced credit card fraud within a few weeks of using our cards here. This was the only location during our travels where we used two separate credit cards, and both cards had to be cancelled. I don't think the staff of the hotel is acting maliciously, but it is possible that their payment systems are not secure. If it weren't for the credit card fraud, which seems to be a theme among recent reviews, I would gladly rate this stay at 4 or 5 stars!

We stayed here for 3 days and everything about this place is beautiful. Only drawback is the number of steps we have to take to reach the hotel. Sunset is visible right from your balcony.( not for every room). Staff is nice as well. Rooms are very clean and beautiful.

The only issie we faced was we booked through from expedia a month ago, on 2 days prior 2 our arrival, their most luxurious room was available at same price we paid. We requested the hotel and Expedia to change the room as the room was still empty upon the day of our arrival, they didnot accomodate and asked to pay additional charge which was not worth it

Apart from this everything was 10/10

This hotel is the best location on Santorini. Oia is a fun little village of many stairs. The hotel manager Chris is very accommodating and knowledgeable on his recommendations. He also goes out of his way to ensure you have the Best experience. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel.

This was our second stop and our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived to Oia, a porter greeted us to grab our luggage which was absolutely needed given the amount of stairs and crowds that gather within the walkways!

As we arrived to the hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was ready early and was incredible! Throughout our stay, the entire staff made sure we had everything we needed, helped us book an excursion and gave us local recommendations.

The buffet breakfast was SO fresh and delicious!

The only "challenge" that we experienced was that the pool chemicals were a bit harsh on my blonde hair and turned my ends green, so blondes beware!!! Was probably just a fluke though and the views and refreshing water were worth it. :)

We will definitely be back and recommend this property to anyone visiting Oia as the location is so central and amazing!

Disappointed! Worst stay ever!

If you want to enjoy and have a peaceful stay, do not visit this property. They won’t provide the same room as we book. We booked a cave suite with private jet in outdoor with caldera view instead we got one with the indoor jacuzzi and zero view from the hot tub.
It was our first anniversary and we planned to spend 3 days in this property, we spent a lot of money for the property just for the caldera view, sunset and location but totally disappointed. The receptionist and manager were rude and did not bother to respond the right way. All they said was that a mail would be sent post booking of the kind of room we were going to be allocated, but we didn’t receive it and when asked about the same they had no response. We also requested them to allocate the right room for one of the three nights which was not respected either.

The amenities mentioned under the room category we booked has a clear mention of ‘outdoor jacuzzi with Cladera view’ & ‘complementary shuttle transfers to and from the airport’ but we were charged for the same.

Honestly some of the lower category rooms has a better view and stay experience than what we had on our first anniversary.

Please check what you are receiving from them before you choose to stay at this property.

Big big disappointment from a property that is very well rated.
