Pelso Camping in Alsoors

Despite of the stunning view of Lake Balaton and the perfect vacation weather, we were extremely disappointed with our stay, especially given the fact that we paid 171 Euros per night (76,000 Hungarian forints) for a 6-person premium mobile home. The home was massively infested with ants and spiders. Ants were crawling on all surfaces and even dismantling the plastic interior on the ceiling and below the window. Debris and small plastic pieces, likely inhaled by us while we slept, fell onto our pillows and heads (see white powder on pics). The situation was so bad that we had to request a different mobile home.

Despite our repeated requests, the new house was not ready for several hours. When we checked back 3 hours after the promised time, we were told they had forgotten to inform us the house was finally cleaned. This meant we couldn’t use the house all day, disrupting our plans and our children’s nap time.

When we complained, the lead receptionist dismissed our concerns by saying, "We are in middle of nature here; this is a camping, not a hotel room," and pointed out their "generosity" in letting us move "for free," as if this wasn’t the bare minimum as they took both from us: free time and energy we spent on moving.

When asking for a discount they were looking at us as if we were from Mars. Just to give a hint to Management for better Complaint Handling and to enhance customer satisfaction: simple gestures like a small voucher for a treat on the beach, a 25% discount on our stay, or even a voucher for a future stay (that is highly unlikely to be consumed) could have shown they cared about our experience - but they DID NOT. Neither did they care about this promised bad review, which really makes me believe that they live according to the motto: we rip you off once, shame on us, we rip you off twice, shame on you.

Attached are photos showing the extent of the ant activity and the filthy, uncleaned public facilities. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re open for some adventure.

What a disappointing experience! Cannot recommend anyone to go there. Everything is broken or worn down. Waterslides was torn apart and absolutely not for use. The pool obviously hadn't been used this year. Sad to see a worn down place, that once must have been a nice campsite. The one star is for the restaurant, the lakeview and the place we had for our RV. Sleeping was impossible due to screaming birds all night. We hadn' t had any notice about the missing wateractivities, so we left after one night, even though we in advance had booked two nights. The most unpleasant stay we have had on our roadtrip.
