Hotels on Balaton lake in Hungary

Location is the best part, directly on the lake shore, with a beautiful park in front of the hotel. Otherwise it's good enough, nothing special. They offer rich breakfast in the morning and cooked warm dinner in the evening. But the hotel is quite dated, old-school, "retro".

Clean and comfortable room, a little outdated and in need of an overhaul. Quite expensive for Hungarian prices, but would stay there again. No complaints. They also handled an infestation of moths that had arrived through what I thought was a closed window very rapidly!

A really great hotel that is in a good location near the promenade. Nice to have access to the hotel beach too.

The location of the hotel is impeccable, we are completely satisfied. The food is also perfect, always a good choice. Breakfast is rich, as is dinner. A big plus is the bathtub in the bathroom. I was blown away, and the room, price, and food were all top drawer. Dont get put off by the outside. it's recently been refurbished. I would stay here again without question. Everything was great about this stay.

Location was good but the private strand wasn’t comfortable. There were no sun beds available for to use, had to rent them which is bad! Should be provided! The restaurant was crowded hard to find tables anytime!

This is at least the 5th consecutive year when we go to this hotel - sometimes more than ones a year. Very good spa, not only sybolic, excellent restaurant, even for us, vegetarians, very kind personell, who are always helpful an flexible. And very good prizes too. We are very satisfied - that is for why go there again and again.

We return to Club Tihany every year for our company’s team-building sports day. The location is truly ideal for large group events. The venue offers a big space and plenty of space for activities such as dragon boating, laser tag, beach volleyball, football and many other sports. It is a well kept property. We loved the longer shoreline. It is very busy but still I did not feel super crowded. Lots of activities are offered for families. Food is great. Suggestion: beach towels. We had to carry our bathroom towels to the beach. The price of the accomodation is quite high. Minimally, the water at the dinner table should be free.

Clean hotel, complete services, very warm rooms, spa is also very clear. In half board accomodation choices where relatively limited but very tasty. parking is charged extra although there is no alternative.

Advantages: The hotel has a great location, a 5-10 minute walk from the train station, and there's a paid parking lot if you drive. A beautiful hotel by the lake with a private beach in walking distance. Great selection of food for breakfast and dinner. The Spa and sauna facilities were excellent and spotless clean. There were plenty of sun beds in the garden. The views from the higher floor windows were stunning of the lake and surrounding area and the rooftop bar was a delightful bonus to watch the sun setting.

The elevators are very slow especially during dinner and breakfast time. We got floor towels instead of normal big towels. the receptionist said they will send us towels but they didn't. So we didn't have any towels. The water was leaking from the shower. The hotel was beautiful but I wasn’t satisfied with any of the services.

A good European all-inclusive hotel with clean pools, well-maintained, spacious grounds, plenty of space, and plenty of entertainment for small children (half the hotel's guests). Safety and privacy. "There's a shortage of seating in the dining room. People smoke on the beach loungers because, instead of information about the smoking ban and the designated areas, there's a notice saying not to feed the ducks. Short stay We stayed 2 nights, the location was excellent, breakfast was good, sadly the wifi was not good at all on the 2nd floor. I would recommend to friends just update the wifi for thr future please.

Spacious rooms and good beds in a sleepy area. There is a cafe and restaurant close, but hours of operation may vary. Short walk to the lake, parks, or center of town. More comfortable furniture than many resorts of this type.

It is a nice modern hotel, with a very kind staff, good selection of food for breakfast and supper. Lots of entertainment opportunities. The only downside of things is that you have to pay for drinks at supper time even as a hotel guest. In most hotels I have stayed at drinks were always included in the price.

My family and I were there in March 2025 for a conference and we really liked it. The amenities were great. The food was always professionally prepared and delicious with some variety. We had an easy time using the extra features like the sauna and the bowling alley and such.

We stayed for 5 nights in the new wing. The room was great — large and spacious. What I really couldn’t understand was that the TV was placed on a stand in the middle of the room, completely unsecured. With a baby, this was extremely dangerous, we constantly had to watch to make sure it wouldn’t fall on him. The room had a kitchen, oven, and washing machine, but no plates, cutlery, or detergent. ...

A great hotel and a wonderful venue for the annual English Teachers' Conference. The atmosphere here is cozy, warm, and beautiful. The grounds are very well-maintained, and the restaurant is quite decent. On top of that, the location is very convenient and easy to reach!

It was my third stay there - I love the place. Handsome rooms with pretty bathrooms, convenient place for different occasions, and the best thing about the hotel is the staff and the restaurant - everybody wants you to be satisfied with everything, and the food is super - delicious. Staying at this hotel near Lake Balaton was truly a pleasure. Its location, close to Siofok's city center, is perfect for relaxation. The spa, though small, features excellent saunas, and the staff is both kind and attentive. Highly recommend for a peaceful autumn retreat!

We spent three nights with my wife there. Perfect location in an extremely nicely maintained garden with a perfect pool. The whole resort is designed with love for the details, using well-coordinated colors. A friendly personal and a good breakfast completes the picture.

Hotel is on very good position with very easy access to the beach. One issue I have is with quality of service in local restaurant. And second one is for old and not well maintained rooms. Broken glass in doors to balcony?! Old and not so tidy bathroo.

We had a wonderful stay at the Margareta Hotel. Really nice staff and excellent food (we had half board). The room looks a bit older, but it is very clean. We took the opportunity to play table tennis and the children and wife tried a very pleasant wellness. It would be nice to strengthen the wifi a bit and to put at least a basic small kettle in the room so that I could make my favorite tea next time...

Not bad, but expensive. The playhouse and the adventure pool are not connected to the hotel, so if it's cold it's unpleasant to walk through the yard. It's not designed for Hungarians and has non-Hungarian prices, they spoke English at the reception. The foreigners are aggressive compared to us, they push everywhere. My daughter waited two days for body painting, then they got it done in 3 minutes...

What we really liked was the playhouse and the water world. In the cool area, there is a waterslide complex just for kids. The water is pleasantly heated, and the jacuzzi is warm. The hotel is quite nice but definitely not 5* hotel. We have a junior suite with a view. Room is nice but there is no dishes and they did not changed our dirt sheet in three days, they took our small towels, but did not give new. Itt was an amazenig place and people.

Me and my fiancé had a great experience here, the rooms are super cosy and vibey. The facilities here are placed well as you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Balaton while relaxing. I can honestly say even after 2 nights here I feel refreshed and pampered. One of the staff members, Lia was so friendly and accommodating too which really enhanced how pleasant this destination is.

Don't judge a book by its cover This hotel may be old school with dated decoration but it is spotless. The rooms are clean, the beds are new and comfortable and the staff is helpful. We haven't stayed in such a quiet hotel in a long time. The room was a good size with a lovely balcony facing the countryside. Breakfast and dinner were very varied. The outdoor area was beautiful and large with plenty of sun loungers. We highly recommend this hotel.

There is currently a mosquito plague in the hotel; we have never seen anything like it. There are 1000 times more mosquitoes than in Lignano i Lignano.

The hotel was right on the beach and my room had filtered water views with spectacular sunsets. Breakfast was pleasant but didn’t cater for gluten free so limited me to eggs. The coffee was good. Little English spoken amongst the staff but they did their best to understand. Room was comfortable and clean. I would recommend.

The rooms were average, we went in off season so the streets were empty and access to beach wasnt possible. But the hotel had wellness services which we enjoyed. The staff was friendly. zsh ok so be aware of this hotel, the main building looks beautiful, but no lift for suitcases..quite many high steps. they put us in a Side building, which was just ok. Towels were thin and awful. Breakfast was however very good.

Hotel is about 12 min walk from the bus station. Few minutes walk to the lake Balaton and to the nearby shops. Rooms are good for the price. You have to come to the reception for anything you need. There is no elevator. Breakfast was very basic.
