I guess not a single thing was changed since the hotel was opened (probably somewhen in the 70s) and I fear this is also true for the disgusting shower curtain. Throughout the hotel, cleanness was absolutely unacceptable: There were spots in the room that seem not to have been touched for years, strange stains on supposedly clean towels, the toilet rather disgusting (funny enough, you will find a "sterile" paper sign on it upon entering...), spiderwebs above the bar in the main restaurant...
On their website they advertise that place as a conference center, which is an absolute joke. The internet is horribly slow, in fact totally unusable. Sending an e-mail with a 5 MB attachment took approximately 50 minutes. No, this is not a joke.
With a few exceptions, staff was unacceptably arrogant. Especially the lady at the bar was openly showing how paying customers disturb her. Anyways, most of the time the bar was already closing at 22.00. I mean, with the hotel being full with people attending a conference, why would you open longer?
On the day of checkout, the cleaning lady was actually coming into the room at about 8.45 to check "if I am still there" (checkout time: 10.00). Completely unacceptable behavior.
The food would have been OK for a cheap canteen. For a 3 star hotel, it is not acceptable.
So if you can: Do yourself the favor of booking another hotel in Siófok. There are plenty of them as it is a nice place in summer at lake Balaton.
The bathrooms have been modernised. Two styles are available. The breakfast and dinner are acceptable. There are good restaurants in 5min distance with a car. The wifi is slow, as a sloth, ISDN style slow...
But the peple are nice, if you treat them as people. I like to be there every year, and i see all the hard work and effort what they do to improve the hotel.
