The cottage was clean, nicely updated, and very comfortable. The staff at the location of check in were not friendly; and even though they touted laundry as an available amenity, it was clear they disnt want to honornthat. We ended up washing clothes in the sinks at the cottage.

The Old Cottage was a small drive from reception. This proved to be worthwhile since it was beautifully located in front of waterfalls and among trees. It was truly wonderful to be in an accomodaiton that allowed you to enjoy the natural beauty of Iceland. The accomodation was also very spacious and clean. My party was extremely happy to have seperate spaces in the property. We wish we were able to stay longer. The staff was very helpful in communicating with me and I appreciated the fact that they had breakfast/dinner available.

Located in Holnafieurze, the surroundings are very quiet, which is really great for travelers who want to enjoy nature. The hotel is situated in the south of Iceland, with stunning mountain views and glaciers that give a sense of the vastness of nature.

In terms of the overall feel, Old Cottages gives a warm and comfortable feel, with uniquely designed rooms filled with traditional Icelandic style that gives a sense of back-to-basics charm, both in the interior and the natural surroundings.
