earch reviews Anna Bampali 1/5 4 minutes ago on Google I travelled as part of an erasmus project with a school in akureiry but I had the worst ever experience in my life. The customer service is not the proper one. I was treated like a thief. We stayed there all teachers for four to five nights. Sunday to Friday. On Thursday morning I went down to have breakfast and the receptionist didn't let me take breakfast unless I paid him for our stay there. Then the receptionist didn't let me go in my room unless he was accompanying me kept asking for the money in an terrible impolite manner. He even told us he will call the police. He got extremely mad and didn't let me go in my room to take my staff. I regard I had tue worst experience in my whole travel life. If I had a chance I would have left immediately after the whole thing. The manager of the hotel never appeared to give the proper customer service to a teacher that had visited the country with school students via am erasmus project. I don't think this place is safe and proper for anybody. I would NEVER EVER recommend it and I hope no one will have such a terrible frustrating experience!!!

Hotel Norduland in Akuyreri was my home away from home for 3 nights. I had originally booked for one night but due to road closure as a result of flooding from the glaciers, I booked additional nights as I needed them to see if the roads would be fixed so I could continue my road trip East on the Ring Road. John and Judy (as well as another staff who worked that weekend) were wonderful. They helped to reassure my worry about how the rest of my trip would continue, they were kind, professional, and welcoming. I had so many questions about driving in the East Fjords and they patiently answered all of them!! The hotel was clean, the breakfast healthy and delicious, and the bed was comfortable. If my future travels take me back to Akuyreri, Hotel Norduland will be my choice!

The hotel is nicely located, you can easily explore the town on foot. The staff are more than polite and helpful. The room itself was clean and averagely furnished. The breakfast was okay, but not more (we saw a lot more inviting buffets all over Iceland with fresh fruit ecc.). Overall: you can definitely book this hotel if you wish to stay close to the town center or harbour.

I stayed here for one night as part of an organized tour. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was strong, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Akureyri, within walking distance of major attractions and eateries in town. I enjoyed the breakfast, which included an English breakfast in addition to the usual continental options provided by most hotels. Overall, everything was good.

Feels I didn't stay in same property as some reviews Location great We were on ground floor, net curtains prevented people outside seeing in .... if its an issue ask to move up a floor ... then complain about no lift No one came & stood in our room .... I'd imagine each door had a different code Reception girl was excellent on check in & later when we caught her for a chat Breakfast was standard fayre with small hot selection

Do not stay here if you want to sleep! The hotel is across the street from a large club. All we heard from 10pm-5am was screaming, fighting, car engines and horns, singing and music from cars. Awful!

Well……we are continuing our Rim Road road trip. Once again, this hotel was selected by our tour company so we don’t know the cost. Everything is simple and plain. Breakfast was just a continental breakfast with no hot items. The best part of our stay was room 15. It was an oversized corner room that could have slept 3. We definitely utilized the extra space. Nice location too.

If there’s zero start I would give it zero star. We were given a room across from the main hotel and it was disgusting! Paid the same fare with others on the tour but the room we got was disgusting!!!!! Dirty carpet, rusted shower pod, broken night light, broken TV, and worse off, check how the toilet is situated facing the side of the link which means our feet are under the sink when we sit!!!! OMG, deceptive business offering worse than motel rooms across from their main hotel. Shameful owner and management for offering this to their customers.

We stayed one night as part of an 8 days tour around Iceland. The hotel placed some of us across the street because the main building is full. My husband and I were shocked with the condition of the room, tiny, dirty carpet, very very very small bath room. The toilet bowl is placed very very close to a tiny sink and the shower’s door is rusty. The TV and one of the stand lamp are not working. Other than the bed and 2 night stands, there are one very small table, a chair, and 2 hangers. I would not come back to this place nor will recommend this place to anyone.

This was the worst hotel by far on my group ring road tour. I was given a single room. It was so tiny I could barely get myself and my suitcase inside. The bed was jammed into an alcove so only accessible on one side. The bed linen was ill fitting and ill matched. The fitted sheet on the mattress did not fit, was wrinkled and messy and was a weird colour and a weird fabric. I slept in track pants and t shirt to minimize my skin's contact with the bedding. The bathroom, also tiny, was in great need of a good scrub. The shower head nasty and crusty. Breakfast was poor. The breakfast room so tiny, that people were eating standing up in the reception area. Also no elevator here. Not a good place to stay.
