Stykkisholmur, Hafnargata 4, 340 Stikkishoulmyur, Zapadnaya Islandiya, Islandiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
We came across Sjávarborg cafe by chance while passing through the town, and it turned out to be one of those really lovely surprises that stay with you. The setting by the harbour is beautiful, and the atmosphere inside is instantly welcoming — relaxed, friendly, and full of small, thoughtful touches that make you want to linger.
The food was excellent — fresh, simple in the best way, and clearly...
comfortable hostel, lovely host , great breakfast -especially the smoked fish! Kitchen was well equipped and useful. Great restaurant next door.
We didn’t stay here but grabbed coffee. The espresso machine was down, but the owner was very accommodating in what drinks she made for us given the circumstances. The decor is eclectic and fun and my husband and I sat and played chess over coffee.
No wifi, window blind fell down, off site member of staff (or owner?) refused to come and fix issues. Poor customer service for price paid!
The place is well located but do not expect any kind of assistance if you need help in the evening. A blind fell off in my room which meant a street light shone directly into the room at night. The wifi was not working. I phoned the off site member of staff (possibly the owner ?) to flag up both issues and was told that no one could come and fix the issue and the fallen blind wasn’t a problem as “it...
Breakfast was a good selection of foods. Coffee was some of the best I've had!

Very good hotel for reasonable price. Good breakfast and facilities.
Staff is very helpfull. I booked the hotel for the wrong date without cancelation posibility. I called the hotel and asked to change the date. Staff did it without any additional fee or questions. Not everybody will do it. Thanks a lot.
Super friendly and excellent value.
Fantastic host.
Ideal location for exploring Snaefell peninsula.
Located in small seaside town with fantastic amenities and interests. Bar. supermarket, gym, fantastic open air pool and hot tubs nearby.
Stayed for a night here - was lucky to even get a room as I originally booked elsewhere as the price was much cheaper here.
Was lucky enough to see the northern lights at the Stykkish harbour nearby and even from our room at the basement - no need to brave the cold for it!
There’s even a lookout deck on the top floor of the hotel to see the northern lights. Ofc photos won’t be as nice since there...
Lovely place in Stykkisholmur. We really liked it! It is in the middle of the town where you have supermarket and some restaurants. The owner (I guessed) who welcomed us was really kid and helpful. Our room was big and well cared with a nice paint. The bathroom was beautiful and comfortable. They offered breakfast, which was very decent with plenty of options in a cosy dinning room. Highly recommended
I spent one night at The Stykkishólmur Inn and had a great experience. The town itself is beautiful — small but with every amenity and service you might need. The hotel is very charming, and my room was spacious and well-equipped (towels and other essentials were provided). Breakfast was really good — a compact but complete buffet, not over the top, but totally satisfying. The staff member I interacted...
I stayed here for one night as part of an organized tour. While the exterior might not look like much, the inside was very cozy. There are no lifts, so we had to lug our luggage up the stairs. The host has taken great care to create little nooks and lounges for guests to relax in. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was strong, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. Overall, everything was...

Very cozy hotel. The Polish receptionist really improved our stay, giving us more information about the activities in the region, as well as the history of the place and current affairs. It is by no means a luxury hotel, but we had a really great time there.
Most satisfying hotel in Iceland. Clean room, nice view, kind staff. Unforgettable experience.
Crazy little find in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Clean, right in town, and the most comfortable beds we’ve had on our trip. Great breakfast spread too. But the star of the show was Patryck! He was so friendly and informative. He gave us a restaurant recommendation and it was one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at. We were asking him a million questions about the area and he answered...
Formerly a convent, this hotel was super cozy and lovely to stay at. Patrick was amazing and super friendly - he actually made us a dinner reservation at a local spot in town too! We all got excellent rest for our first night after flying and woke to a delicious breakfast buffet included with the stay. Would highly recommend if in the area!
What a spectacular find, with no reservation, at night. Wonderful location, all the history, former convent with chapel, great rooms and outstanding breakfast buffet. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Patrick.
The hotel is located next to the harbour and is operated by Catholic church of Fransiskus.Room size is big. Breakfast is good. There is a church for prayer 24hrs at the hotel.

Great value for money, clean facilities, and a good location.
It’s really cozy and they have their restaurant. The room is so clean and cozy. They also have sheep’s goats and Icelandic horse that you can visit.
Check-in was at the restaurant counter, and check-in times are the same as the restaurant's operating hours. The automated email stated a shorter check-in window, but I called and confirmed that you can check in anytime before the restaurant closes. The room was huge and beautiful, with a kitchen and living room. Each room is a standalone house, and all the amenities are great. The privacy is excellent...
Perfect service, location is beyond, food for watching the northern light!
The rooms are amazing, the beds are really comfortable and everything is very modern. We arrived late at night and were still able to check in so that removed a lot of the pressure for us on the road.
This was a gem in the region. We booked this last minute on our day in the Snæfellsnes peninsula and boy was it a good choice. They have both independent cottages ( more expensive) and shared accommodation, but the shared accomodation was way more than we expected. Everything from the room, bathrooms and the kitchen/common area setup was amazing and for the price it was good value for money. You also...

WOW! We absolutely loved our stay at the Akkeri Guesthouse and loved our stay in Stykkisholmur. What a charming, beautiful coastal town. This was our favorite spot and stay of our entire Iceland trip because of its charm. The Guesthouse is conveniently located in walking distance from anything you’d need or want - many restaurants, walking along the water, etc. We did kayaking which was conveniently...
Just as clean and cozy as the other reviews describe. Not a lot of room to walk around in your room, and the bathroom was a marvel of squeezing the necessary equipment into a tiny space (on the model of a sleeper train compartment) — but you aren't in Stykkisholmur to walk around your hotel, so that was just fine. There could not be a cleaner, more well kept hotel in the country, run by friendly...
Staff very friendly and welcoming, rooms and facilities super clean. Beds and duves comfy. Rooms soundproofed, which ensured a good night's sleep. Great location close to the harbor and all the best restaurants. We highly recommend Akkeri!
The guesthouse is very clean and has everything a family needs. The location is awesome & staff were all very friendly. The room is definitely cozy but it's in a small town and a traditional style house so that's expected. Our family loved it because it adds to the authentic Iceland experience!
Delicious! Room quite spacious for Icelandic standards, very nice decor, comfortable beds, adequate space, great view, very comfortable, parking right in front. Very cute little village, worth seeing. Super welcoming! Very friendly staff.
What a gem! The location for Akkeri Guesthouse was perfect! Christina and her husband were the perfect hosts. The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. Located perfectly for all activities on the peninsula and walking distance to two excellent restaurants. Highly recommend Akkeri Guesthouse!

Cozy little place with all the cooking utensils one could need. There were two bathrooms with showers shared with 4 other rooms, which is very good considering the low price. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The owner was very nice and helped us with all our problems. I would definitely recommend going here if you need a place to stay!
For being in the middle of nowhere this was one of the best GuestHouse in Iceland. Do you share a guesthouse with five other rooms but there's enough area where you can feel like you're the only one there. Plus there's a hot tub you can use
This is a cozy guest house in beautiful Stykkishólmur, a town surrounded by water. Making a reservation was very easy. Check-in was self-service. The bedroom and shared bathroom were comfortable and clean. The spacious living and dining room was a great place to relax, and the view from the picture window was spectacular. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, cooking utensils and a dishwasher. The Bónus...
Great B&B! Clean rooms, great accommodation which you share with other guests. You can use the kitchen to prepare your own meal and enjoy the hottub while watching the Northern light.
