WOW! We absolutely loved our stay at the Akkeri Guesthouse and loved our stay in Stykkisholmur. What a charming, beautiful coastal town. This was our favorite spot and stay of our entire Iceland trip because of its charm. The Guesthouse is conveniently located in walking distance from anything you’d need or want - many restaurants, walking along the water, etc. We did kayaking which was conveniently right across the street. We also enjoyed a trip to the local pools in the morning, which was delightful! The Guesthouse is extremely comfortable and homey. I genuinely felt welcomed and right at home. The innkeeper is very kind (she even let us come back after kayaking to change our wet clothes, which was 1000% above and beyond). We were very kindly greeted every time we came and went. The room was very comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. Breakfast is an added charge, but it is well worth the price. The spread was massive, and it was also delicious. I want to come back purely to stay here again. You cannot miss Stykkisholmur nor a stay at the Akkeri Guesthouse!

Just as clean and cozy as the other reviews describe. Not a lot of room to walk around in your room, and the bathroom was a marvel of squeezing the necessary equipment into a tiny space (on the model of a sleeper train compartment) — but you aren't in Stykkisholmur to walk around your hotel, so that was just fine. There could not be a cleaner, more well kept hotel in the country, run by friendly people, with a cheerful atmosphere. Breakfast was limited in variety but perfect, and you are always able to take wine or beer for yourself from the entrance room.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, rooms and facilities super clean. Beds and duves comfy. Rooms soundproofed, which ensured a good night's sleep. Great location close to the harbor and all the best restaurants. We highly recommend Akkeri!

The guesthouse is very clean and has everything a family needs. The location is awesome & staff were all very friendly. The room is definitely cozy but it's in a small town and a traditional style house so that's expected. Our family loved it because it adds to the authentic Iceland experience!

Delicious! Room quite spacious for Icelandic standards, very nice decor, comfortable beds, adequate space, great view, very comfortable, parking right in front. Very cute little village, worth seeing. Super welcoming! Very friendly staff.

What a gem! The location for Akkeri Guesthouse was perfect! Christina and her husband were the perfect hosts. The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. Located perfectly for all activities on the peninsula and walking distance to two excellent restaurants. Highly recommend Akkeri Guesthouse!

The house is very pretty, the room very beautiful, very well appointed and very clean. We were also very kindly upgraded. The village is charming with a full catering service, although on Sundays the choice was more limited.

This place is adorable, spotless, well located and very reasonably priced. Kriztina, the hostess, was so accommodating and sweet. She ensured that the breakfast buffet had a variety of options, even when it was only the two of us for breakfast. We will definitely be back if we return to Stykkishólmur!

We stayed at the Akkeri Guesthouse for convenience; it is very close to the ferry terminal from which we needed to leave first thing in the morning as we headed north to the Westfjords. But the accommodation proved charming, with updated, modern decor and a private bath. The service was excellent; the woman who checked us in also made sure that we had dinner reservations at one of the two nicer restaurants in town. The breakfast was on the simpler side, but they will have it ready whenever you need it and the shared dining area is cozy and comfortable. This was also one of the more affordable places we stayed during our entire two weeks in Iceland. So, although not a luxury hotel, it met all of our needs and was a relative bargain!

Me and my husband had a lovely stay at Akkeri Guesthouse. It was very cosy and comfortable and our room had a balcony wich was ultra nice. It was my husbands birthday while we stayed there and we had some lovely treats sent to our room. The breakfast was great, similar to a 5 star hotel. Thanks a bunch, this was a great stay!
