Residency Hotel Fort in Mumbai

It's a bit like economy class on an airplane – everything is perfectly fine, but you always feel a bit cramped. The room is small, and the breakfast area often requires waiting for a table or sharing one. However, this hotel remains a good choice for visiting the historic center of Mumbai or catching a train, given its proximity to the station.

Based on good reviews, I chose to stay here for my first trip to India. The location is super convenient, and all the staff are incredibly kind. The breakfast was especially delicious! They also offered coffee and tea services, which made for wonderful hospitality. I'm especially grateful to Rajesh at the concierge desk who helped me call an Uber to the airport after I checked out.

Great stay! Can easily walk over to the Kala Ghoda district, Gateway of India, Colaba Shopping Street, the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles, the Fashion Street and the Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj Terminus. Found a nice seafood restaurant Mahesh Lunch Room just a block away.

I loved this hotel. The location is great, close to many restaurants and shops, colonial buildings and attractions.
Breakfasts are fantastic, with both Indian and western food available. Eggs and dosas are cooked freshly to order. There is also free water, and tea/coffee available in the lounge areas.
The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. I requested to move rooms as I wasn't keen on being on the ground floor, and they arranged straight away to let me move to a higher room. My domestic flight was cancelled by Indigo and the fantastic concierge Rajesh was extremely helpful with helping me rearrange plans. Rajesh made several phone calls for me to tour companies, transport providers and hotels, and took me to the central station and back to help me buy my train ticket. He went above and beyond for me to sort out the disruption to plans caused by the cancellation. He also arranged a taxi for me and ensured I got away safely. I was really touched by all his help and it made a stressful situation way easier for me, especially as I was travelling alone. Thank you so much Rajesh!
I will happily stay at this hotel again should I return to Mumbai.

A solid hotel in the "old" part of Mumbai. Location is great - close to the metro station with a direct connection to the airport. Nothing to complain about in terms of staff attitude, cleanliness or amenities. My room was good. The only downside about the room is the AC location: right in front of the bed, and it blows directly at you.
Please also keep in mind that there's active construction works literally behind the wall. They finish by 9 PM, but a day time nap or just a chill in the room just won't happen.

Stop looking for hotels, you found the right one! I am highly recommending it to you, you won't be disappointed.

We had a fantastic stay at Residency Hotel Fort. The first thing I'll say is that the service is top notch - the team really do make guests feel welcome and taken care of. The breakfast was also good value for the price - we especially enjoyed the coffees out of the Italian coffee machine. The rooms were compact but clean, and the showers had strong water flow and warmed up quick. I would recommend Residency Hotel Fort as an excellent choice for the price paid.

I stayed here on 4 Jan 2025. From outside it looked just an ordinary hotel. But when I went in, wow what an amazing hotel. My room was in the new building which is like a 5-star as soon as you enter the lobby. The room was big. Where can you find big rooms in Mumbai!!! But here it was. The interior was class. The reception stass was very helpful. The service boys helped me to take the luggage to the room. They kept my guests luggage as well while we were travelling around in Mumbai. The breakfast space is bit small but the breakfast was very nice. Omlette and dosa was the best. You rarely get a dosa for breakfast in a hotel, but here it was there. The check-in and check-out was easy. There are nice retaturants around the hotel- veg and non veg.
I am very particular when I give 5 star rating to a hotel, but this one is worth a 6 star rating.
