Reviews
The streets in and around are narrow, busy and not very clean but have years of history.
Will definitely stay here next time I am in Delhi/Chandni Chowk area.
The area could be considered by some to be problematic, but I found the tumult to be a positive feature.
Hotel is luxurious, rooms are clean, elegant and staff are fantastic. The hotel isn’t just accommodation, it truly is a memorable experience and cannot recommend highly enough.
The food was the only disappointment. We had a very average dinner that was quite expensive for India (£80) and the breakfast in the morning was woeful. The food really doesn’t match the hotel which is a shame! Nonetheless you HAVE to stay here. Simply unmatched.
1. It’s on a little pedestrian lane that’s actually not too busy and very sweet.
2. Incredibly centrally located. A couple of minutes walk from the mosque.
3. Felt very safe. The usual warnings about pick pockets but I never felt in the slightest bit worried.
4. access is actually quite easy. Bike tuk tuks will take you pretty much to the door. and the road is only a minute or so walk away.
5. there is another property about 50 yards away which also sounds lovely but I didn’t stay there.
6. very fine restoration. I’m told it took five years and I can believe it.
I don’t know that you’d want to stay there for a week. Just because old Delhi is a bit overwhelming. But for two or three nights it’s an experience not to be missed. A haven of peace in a cacophonous frenetic but fascinating part of the city.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
Hygiene - The most disgusting part apart from parathas is that the area is unhygienic and even drinking water was dirty. I visited here with my friends and it spoilt our mood completely.
Cost - In pictures it looks like it must be a cheap place to eat but they will loot your hard earned money for a food which has no hygiene, taste or service. They are getting customers just because of over branding of that area. PLEASE AVOID!
Each paratha costs Rs 70
It may be a case of personal preference, I would prefer tawa or tandoor paratha
Service is horrible.
The only possible reason to visit gali paranthe wali is the history associated with it.
