⭐ Worst Experience Ever – Fraud & Unprofessional Behavior Hotel Name: City Empire – New Delhi Railway Station, Paharganj This was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. Highly unprofessional, dishonest, and irresponsible staff. I had booked this hotel one month in advance and paid advance payment. On the day of check-in, when we reached early morning, they said room will be given at 12 PM. We accepted and went out for our work. When we returned in the evening, they suddenly refused to give us the room, saying no room is available! This was shocking and unacceptable. They had sold our confirmed room to someone else at a higher price. Because of their cheating: We had to call the police Only after police intervention did we get our advance refund At 11 PM at night, we were forced to search for another hotel with family, causing huge stress, harassment & inconvenience This kind of behavior is completely unethical and unacceptable. ❌ No professionalism ❌ No commitment ❌ No customer respect ❌ Fraudulent booking practices ⚠️ Strong warning to all travelers: DO NOT book this hotel even by mistake. They cannot be trusted and may leave you stranded at night. Rating: 1/5 – Extremely poor service & dishonest management

Good elements: The room was silent. Clean towels are provided. Two small bottles of water are provided. Breakfast was nice (capuccino, chapati with nutella, watermelon, papaya, etc.). Shampoo and showergel were provided but I did not use it. The wifi works fine. Bad elements: I arrived from Bikaner and the early check in would have costed 500 rps. Since I did not use the free pick up from the airport, I asked whether it would have been possible to be dropped off: they say they have shuttles only from the airport, as if they were using a service provided by the airport. The cost to go to the airport would have been 1200 rps, which later discounted to 800 (consider that the express metro line to Terminal 3 costs 64 rps from metro Delhi Station and if you call a taxi on Rapido it costs max 330rps). The room was dirty. I am quite sure they have not chanhed the bed sheets and I did not use the pillows, as they did not smell of clean bed sheets. I had toI wash the bathroom myself with the toilet pipe because the floor was full of dust and black stuff. The sink had hair and around it was black. I had to ask to have hot water and then it arrived. I was not able to activate the AC: not sure whether it was me or the AC. Not worth 18 euros (discounted), compared to other hotels.

The hotel had an excellent structure, which matches the photos. We had a problem during the trip and Mr. Girish helped us resolve it, something that wasn't even related to the hotel. It's important to note that it's located in Old Delhi, so it's a rather chaotic and simple area of New Delhi. If you're looking for a high-end neighborhood, you should look elsewhere. However, for those looking to stay in the Old Delhi area, this is the perfect choice. Excellent service and facilities.

What an experience. I arrived at this hotel, and when the taxi pulled up, I immediately wanted to leave ! Traffic was very heavy, and the road leading to the hotel appeared dirty and squalid. It is located very close to New Delhi train station. However, I was wrong. The manager and staff are delightful. I had an internal room - no widow, which managed to drown out most of the traffic noise. My room was bright and fresh and spotlessly clean. Restaurant on top floor - 4th didn't look too inviting and was cafe styled. However, the food was lovely. Breakfast was buffet styled, largely Indian dishes, but there was something for everyone. I even asked the manager if it was safe to walk outside the hotel . He laughed and said that downtown Delhi could be a scary place for European visitors, but he assured me that it was quite safe - even at night. He was right. I really enjoyed delving into what appeared to be the Delhi underworld at this fab little hotel. Great value, too. Would I return? Yes, yes, yes !

All the photos shown were taken at least ten years ago, nothing is true when you walk in. All the rooms are exceptionally tiny, so you can’t even walk around the room. There is not even a wardrobe or space to keep your suitcase or clothes. The air conditioning is very poor and you have to call the reception every time to switch it on. There was no extractor fan in the shower. They highlighted far too many facilities but when I went nothing was there. They simply asked me to go to the nearest slum for everything. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting.. overall I had a such a horrible experience and it’s completely waste of money..

OK it's a budget hotel but the room was incredibly tired and shabby. The bathroom wasn't bad though and the location, close to New Delhi Station is good, though very dirty. But the biggest disappointment was the management. Following a really unpleasant experience on the metro, where somone vomited on me, they refused to allow my friend up into my room after he'd come to my aid and lent me his jacket en route. I needed to clean up and return it to him but, because he is Indian this wasn't allowed. I was furious at the insult to a dear friend. Are they really accusing all their countrymen of being criminals? I checked out immediately and won't be back.
