Omah Njonja Bed & Brasserie in Yogyakarta

I extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at Baba Apien, their resto. I came from Salatiga with my elderly mother, and I had confirmed the restaurant’s availability via WhatsApp the day before my visit (Monday, 21 December 2025, at 07.40 WIB). I was assured that the restaurant would be open from 07.00–14.00 WIB on the 22 Dec although I do not stay in their hotel.
However, when I arrived the next day (Tuesday, 22 December 2025) at 10.30 WIB, the restaurant was closed. The staff gave me multiple excuses, all of which had occurred before I had checked their availability. This was misleading and unacceptable.
Although they later offered an apology, it did not cover my disappointment. I was left waiting for almost an hour with my mother before they finally placed a very limited menu in front of us — only nasi goreng and kwetiaw. During this time, we were treated as though we were begging for service.
The staff member who had answered my chat was not present at the restaurant, and the manager was absent as well. This shows a complete lack of responsibility and professionalism.
I will not recommend Baba Apien to anyone, nor will I ever return. The restaurant demonstrated poor customer service, unprofessional management, and a clear lack of understanding of the hospitality business. This place is simply unacceptable. This experience completely ruined my mood during my visit to Yogya.
