Top Malioboro Hotel in Yogyakarta

Decent fee but can improve, especially breakfast. No hand soap provided even after asking. However, provided other request.

Staff are friendly but not helpful at all. Not a good hotel if you're looking for a non smoking place. I had to reprimand a guest directly because he smoke by the window on the non smoking floor despite there are cameras everywhere (no one picked up my call to the reception and no solution except spraying my room with perfume).

The next night there were a group of school children from Surabaya (said one of the kid) on the same floor with us without adult supervision because the teachers are all on the other floor. The children shouted loudly, ran back to back in the hallway, knocked every door, called my my room telephone. They did that until 1 AM, and surprisingly no one from the hotel intervened despite there are always hotel staff on our floor before noon (I can hear them talking on walkie talkie when they passed in front of our room). My husband complained to the hotel several times by their whatsapp number because the front office lady doesn't understand English (she doesn't even understand the word 'children'). Despite our complained the noise stop not because of what the hotel do to solve this problem, but because the children left hotel for their city excursion. We had to do more complains during the day and threatened to leave hotel before they proposed to change room on another floor.

The facilities in this hotel are extremely outdated and in terrible condition. Essentially, it should cease operations and undergo a complete renovation.
