Eco Resort Dei Siriti in Nova Siri

The resort is placed in a beautiful spot, away from the city. The food for me was great and I really liked it. The only problem I noticed was with the coffee as usually it tasted really watery. The staff was mostly really nice and helpful (unfortunately with some exceptions). Rooms on the first floor were clean and big.
On the bad note. The place is really, really noisy because of the music that plays everyday during the day and at the evenings. You can hear it even far away from the venue with makes relaxing or even talking quite impossible. Also if you speak no Italian with some members of the staff its really hard to communicate. Which would be no problem in general but in this case I experienced some weird looks and comments in Italian. Some people from the kitchen staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful but some acted like they want you to leave immediately.

Not as eco as I would have expected, also not very suited to non Italian visitors or anyone visible queer. When we asked to have a taxi booked to the train station when we were leaving we were told no that wasn't a service they provided, which seems odd as that's a pretty standard service for a hotel reception. Food was reasonably good but the atmosphere in the dining room is pretty hectic. Also the free wine and coffee at meals were awful, although the coffee your paid for at the bar was fine. Air conditioning in the rooms existed but didn't really achieve much, it was very hot at night.

A mixed experience. The rooms are spacious, air conditioned, the bathrooms fine (showers maybe a little small). Like many continental hotels, there is no drink-making facility in the room and it is a long way to the bar (the only place where hot or cold drinks are served). I advise taking a travel kettle. There were two bottles of cold drinks in the minibar. The accommodation is built into the hill so the rooms on the third floor are actually on a level with the car park at the back. Had we used the balcony our view would have been the car park. This also meant keeping the curtains closed most of the time.
On arrival we stood in a queue for well over an hour to check in. Our room was at the far end of the accommodation, on the third floor. There is no lift and no porter. We were not offered any assistance or a trolley. Two women struggling up three flights of stairs with suitcases and then a good five minute walk along the corridor of 155 large rooms and three further staircase/service areas to the end. On the plus side, the accommodation is nicely designed, each corridor open at both ends so that martins swoop in and out and nest in the corridors.
This is an all-inclusive resort in that it includes three meals and drinks with meals (but not at other times). The food was enjoyable (although native Italians described it as like school dinners!). A range of drinks including wine, soft drinks and hot drinks were available during mealtimes only. Otherwise the only place to obtain a drink of any kind, hot or cold, was the lobby bar (briefly after lunch and dinner) and the pool bar. The resort produces its own wine but the bars do not sell any wine at all other than prosecco.
There were issues with boat trips arranged through hotel reception. Where the miscommunication arose is not clear but people were left stranded without transport back from the trip for an hour and a half on one occasion and 45 minutes on another occasion, a shuttle bus only turning up after many frantic messages to the hotel. When the bus arrived, the driver refused to return until he was paid more money but no one had been advised previously that payments should be made to the driver. I would be wary of arranging any trips this way. Had we not been with an Italian speaker we would have been in considerable difficulty and I don't know how we would have got back to the hotel.
The resort provides entertainment throughout the morning, afternoon and and night (except between around midday and 3 when the pool is closed). This is amplified, noisy and of variable quality but may suit some people. It may also be helpful for families who need entertainment for children.
I found all the staff pleasant.
The grounds extend over a large area. There are olive groves, vineyards and fruit trees.

A little bit difficult to communicate with the staff even though we speak Spanish and English! It is a very Italian resort. There was nice personnel who wanted to help but sometimes we thought some of them were tired to service and tourists in general. But it is not only the hotel but the whole region who seems a bit tired of service compared to other parts of Italy close by. We expected more from a four star hotel. An Italian family oriented hotel.

The resort is aimed at families with young children. Thus the restaurant menu is child focused and its super busy.
The room was not sound proof as stated
Enjoyed the pool with hundreds of others.

Initial impression is that of four stars. The personnel has been helpful and friendly so far. The location is around 5km from the beach, but the swimming pool looks good so far.

I'm afraid by the end of the week there will be zero stars left. The pool was good indeed. The water wasn't very hot nor cold. I think it was rather soothing on the very high temperatures here (35oC). The problem yesterday was the microphone guy. Someone told him to talk, and he didnt stop, ever, with stupid commentary and even singing out of tune over all the songs. I don't know if the gentleman was drunk or high, which is fine honestly, as long as someone takes away the microphone.

Also the show last night included a couple of theater jokes. Maybe I am uncultured and I missed the point of all the demonstrations. I will reflect.

Breakfast was nothing spectacular, aside the normal italian-trying-to-be-international. But it was delicious. Personally I dislike the coffee dispensers. You can't get good coffee if you press a button for it. So I'm prejudiced against that. I understand in the catering business is probably the ultimate line of technology and service. Will give a go at the "navetta service to the beach".

The lifeguards on the swimming pool, proved to be polite, useful and knowledgeable. On the other hand the staff of the reception was the complete opposite. I don't know what's their problem, but today twice I asked for their help and twice they've been obnoxious, rude and almost laughing at me. Maybe they should take a page from the lifeguards' book.

This is absolutely NOT a four stars restaurant. Yesterday we were served old french fries. How can you fail to server decent french fries when the next McDonald's can outshine you. The food on last night's buffet was a recycling of leftovers from lunch and old patatine fritte. Today for the first time I tried the cornetti. All of them were covered in powdered sugar (which I dislike) but I tried anyway. The pastries were half cooked- the pasta inside was actually still raw. I'm quite disappointed that they can't offer a decent pastry. Additionally I refuse to believe that in a four stars restaurant I get paper towels and plastic cups and just one glass. From the dispenser coffee and soft drinks to the lack of extra glasses during any meal- the list can go on and on.
