LH Albergo Il Picchio in Pescasseroli

Very nice and cozy hotel located 10 minutes walking from Peacasseroli town center. Rooms are nice even if sometimes not that big compared to the number of people hosted. Lovely garden where to take a break from the 9 to 5 lifestyle sorrounded by Appennini mountains. Sunbathing there or just reading a good book is great.
Food is excellent and portions are good. Best ricotta ever !
In the summer there is also the possibility to reach the town center in an horsedrawn buggy. Fair prices for this lovely place. Kind and welcoming personnel.
When there, I suggest trying one of the nice strolls in the mountains run by Ecotour, the local organization promoting Abbruzzo and National Park. I have done then all !

The hotel has changed property and it is now owned by LH.
We went there 3 months ago. The people at the restaurant were very friendly but the tables were dirty.
The garden outside has the same allure as before luckily.
Unfortunately, the person at the reception is quite abrupt and his ways of doing are not very friendly. Maybe, if he is not willing to treat calmly and nicely people, he should consider changing job. There are many jobs out there which don't involve interfacing with clients.
What a pity compared to the old managers who were so nice and welcoming. To attract the clients they claim to be the same property as before but it's not true. The property and the new one is very different.

Unable to reach Pescasseroli due to snow and malfunctioning car, I requested a date shift (not a refund because I was aware of the impossibility) receiving a dry no. Having said that as soon as I have a new opportunity to visit Abruzzo, I will book at another facility.
