Hotel Ovidius in Sulmona

I was here for 3 nights and I stayed in a suite room. The room was spacious with minibar and safe. Large bed. The bathroom was also spacious equiped by a large walk in shower. All was very clean. The breakfast buffet was very good. The dinner is copious and served at the table. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this nice hotel.

A lovely hotel with exceptional service. The management and staff make the guest feel like family. We have stayed in many hotels and have never felt so at home. The hotel is maintained to an excellent standard and the rooms and public areas are lovely. Highly recommend and more.

A charming and cozy hotel, we loved the room, we announced in advance that we were sensitive to lactose and gluten, and for breakfast a tray full of suitable products was waiting on the table, this doesn't happen everywhere. Great location, would choose the hotel again

Excellent place to stay. I wasn’t surprised because we were told very good things about this hotel. When we got there, I was pleased to see that it was true. Met the owner and she was fabulous. Her husband played a wonderful song for us on the piano. He’s excellent. All of the staff was great too. Great breakfast, great room, clean, a lot included in the room. I would definitely stay there again. It is Central to a lot of Abbruzzi and there is a lot to see within about an hour drive. Beautiful scenery.

A days cooking class with the skilled and funny chef Antonella It was informative, enjoyable and tasty time. Her family run the hotel and assist and we met them all. We helped to prepare Fagolini soup, local pasta and sauce ( lamb and ricotta flakes); meatballs and the sweet pinelle d’Abruzzo. With our broken Italian and her better English we learned about the food and the stories of her childhood. Our group were amazed at the taste and quality of food made from simple ingredients. Added to that were the rose, white and red wines from their vineyard. We sat and ate in the sunny dining room looking at the beautiful view A terrific experience. We learned a great deal and had a wonderful time. Most of all we will remember the warmth and kindness of Antonella and her family.

a dols house! very beautiful and warm atmosphere!! very kind, helpful and warm staff. spotless, clean and luxurious! very close to the city center but at a point that maintains the peace. in general, Sulmona is ideal for beautiful walks and tranquility! simply divine!!

In lovely spring weather we had 2 nights at this very fine hotel with direct view to the snowcapped mouintains. Reception friendly and fast. Room was quiet, full view to Gran Sasso! Fine beds, fine bathroom. Breakfast was indeed very good and a very warm service at breakfast.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in late March. We find it to be in an excellent location to explore the town of Sulmona; but also close to main roads for day trips or into the countryside to other towns. There is free parking out front if you happen to get one of the white curb parking spots. Or, the hotel had more parking around back with a gate opened by your room key. There is a restaurant on site serving high quality food. Our stay had breakfast buffet included which was quite extensive. Staff members were all very friendly. Special mention to Ari on the front desk and Tanya in the breakfast room. Everyone else was pleasant and helpful too. Walking distance to countless restaurants and the historical centre of Sulmona.
