We had an amazing experience at the La Montanara hotel. It is a very cosy place, family run and all the staff were super friendly. Clean rooms, great breakfast and dinner beyond expectations (set menu with local dishes to choose from, as well as salad/starters bar), and good sauna to enjoy after skiing. It was definitely a 5star experience!

I have been to a lot of hotels and this one is one of my favourites!!!! We choose this one as our Ski vacation, I loved the food, the cleaness, the staff is very professional and the owner has helped me with trouble that I cause myself and fixed everything even if he didnt have to!
I will always come back here.

Unfortunately my trip ended on a very sour note at Hotel Montanara. I booked my stay with my 18month old son under the magic mountain weeks discount, which clearly states children under 12 are free, and adults pay 60 euro half board. At checkout they told me my son would pay the full adult rate because I was a single parent (despite me bringing my own crib and feeding himk from my plate.) This is not stated on their website, and I showed this to Flavio, one of the owners. He agreed to decrease the rate for my son to about half the usual charge which I felt was not ideal but reasonable given the mutual disagreement. Unfortunately they chose to not refund me the partial amount, and when I emailed to remind them, they declined to do so. My stay at the hotel was otherwise ok, ( a few staff were especially kind and gracious with my son, which was greatly appreciated, room was stuffy and it was very loud a few nights,) but I was planning to leave a very positive review ( and a nice tip) if they had not been so slimy at checkout and since then. It was a very dissapointing end to the trip and a very poor showing on the part of the owner who did not keep his word.

I like the hotel and staff, though my room was small and had a window looking into a tiny courtyard. It was cold in September and heating was not on. Food was nice and selection was good. They have a nice spa area but sauna was out of order.

I was there with my 2 y.o. son. It is a very nice Family hotel. Big parking space right in front of the hotel. Staff is very friendly and pleasent (nothing is a problem). Rooms are smaller But clean. I missed a small fridge. Breakfasts are ok. I really admired snack for free in the afternoon. Dinners are huge and very tasty - 4 courses. Ski center is 2 minutes by car or you can use special train to go there. I can recommend this friendly hotel!!!

Positives: nice service, especially in the restaurant. It is clean. Close to a ski zone - Latemar, there is transport to the lift which is about 1 km from the hotel.

Negatives: It is a little cold inside. Definitely it is not warm. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon there is no more warm water. I had a shower at least two times with cool water. Ski room is cold too. Our shoes were wet in the morning. For a ski hotel this is absolutely a problem.

There is no cozy lobby bar to chat and have a drink apres ski, only an old style bar - see the pictures.

Rooms are small. We were in one of the most spacious and it was impossible to open the wardrobe doors completely.

Hotel is situated at the end of Predazzo - one of the first buildings. It is far to go to the center and there are just a few shops and coffee bars. Not feeling being at a ski resort. If you wish to go to the popular ski areas you have to travel by car every day at least 30 minutes. Alpe Lusia is an exception - it is very nice for beginners and intermediates and is close to Predazzo.

Always the same food for breakfast, dinners were not tasty, children could not eat. The wellness area looks strange and dirty, most of the staff speaks no English.

The hotel is very well managed. The service is on a high level. The food is regional, delicious and plenty to choose from. The only downturn are the bathrooms. Some of them are dated in 70s. They are clean and ok but the shower cubicle are very small. It depends on the room though; some have new bathrooms. All in all, the hotel is worth recommending.
