Sonus Alpis - Adults Only in Kastelruth

I stayed 2 nights at Sonus Alpis. I initially thought I booked a deluxe room, but it felt more like a studio apartment complete with a kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, and all the utensils.
There’s also a dining table and a large balcony, which I really liked. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from town.
Overall, it’s an adult-only stay, and the view in front of the hotel is absolutely amazing.

This adults only hotel is beautiful and wonderful. The view of the Dolomiti right off your balcony is breath taking. We had our first night dinner there after a long drive and it was one of the best meals of our trip. We are still dreaming about the amazing breakfast buffet. We were in Italy for the Olympics and really enjoyed a relax day taking a dip in the outdoor heated pool, the sauna and the quiet Music relax room. Coming home from an event to a piano concert was a wonderful surprise. Our room was big and the bed comfortable. I highly recommend a stay here if you are in the Tyrol area.

Great location, views and 'Instagrammable' vibes. They offer free parking to guests. However the service does not match the price point or the online reviews.

Here's some factual examples (with photos attached) below for your own judgement - significant lapses in housekeeping and safety, including our room door being left open by staff after room cleaning and dirty cleaning cloths left on personal items.

A more serious concern, during dinner when a waiter was clearing our table, he dropped a knife which hit and broke a wine glass, sending shards flying everywhere—including into my glass of water. The waiter took the broken wine glass away silently without an apology. He returned to clean the table and bring a new wine, but he left the water glass full of broken glass pieces on the table. He only replaced it after we explicitly asked. If I hadn't checked and had taken a drink, the result would have been disastrous.

To conclude, for a 'lifestyle' hotel, the staff training is insufficient. The lack of basic hospitality and attention to safety makes it hard to recommend. We had high expectations, but the experience here is well below standard compared to other hotels in the Dolomites area.

This hotel has been one of the best experiences. The rooms are super comfortable, amazing views, top location. And to end with the best: the food, sauna and service made our stay a top experience. We wanted to extend one more night but the hotel closed for one month the day of our checkout 😭 haha

The guests felt right at home; the scenery was beautiful, and the restaurant food was delicious.

The downsides were that the rooms were small and the price was quite high.

Sonus Alpis is a lovely, affordable resort. The pleasant staff is always professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and smiling. The breakfast has unlimited choices, including fresh eggs made to order. The view is spectacular. From every window, patio and balcony. The pool was delightful and the connecting quiet and music rooms are restorative. It’s secluded, but close enough to hiking trails and points of interest. Highly recommend

We stayed at Sonus Alpis for 3 nights in Oct 2025 and it was awesome..this property has unbelievable views from the pool area as well as various rooms and is literally ‘immaculate’ it looked brand new ..we were immediately welcomed as soon as we walked in, offered welcome drinks and snacks in their bar our room had great views of the mountains, was well appointed and had nice plush robes for use in the pool area and saunas. The pool is heated, and has multiple lounges both inside and outside and on the grass area. The hotel also has a ‘quiet room’ for just relaxing and listening to light music via headphones and tablets which are provided. They have 4 different type saunas to enjoy which were very enjoyable after a hiking day..The restaurant had some great food (sort of having a German Flair to it) and we ate there all three nights. The continental breakfast was quite extensive having usually scrambled eggs, various meats and cheeses, an assortment of baked goods, coffees, juices, etc and all very tasty..The staff, and I do mean everyone, was extremely polite and always wanting to help or assist you relating to hiking, traveling around the area, food and wine recommendations, etc..the weather on our Oct visit was perfect, got a little snow up at the higher elevations but nothing in town and we sort of expected that with a fall visit to mountains..I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and if we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay here again No Doubt In Our Minds!! We travelled Italy for two weeks and this was our favorite hotel for sure….Thank you to the staff and owners of the Sonus Alpis….keep up the fantastic job you are doing!!!!

if you love the mountain Dolomite’s , you must stay here! The Sonus Alpis hotel is so close, you can touch the mountain. This family hotel offers all the quality you wish from friendly staff to clean and inspiring rooms, plus spa and a beautiful outdoor swimming pool . Not to forget a very nice restaurant which offers good food. The breakfast is done with love all healthy food you wish. A big compliment to this family run hotel we loved it

Love love love !!!! The total staff is fantastic, and the hotel is clean and organized.
The room is big and has a full kitchen.
The spa area is cozy and has a lot of space.
The food is delicious, especially the dinner.

We had the best time here on our honeymoon. We especially liked Florian at the front desk. He was so welcoming, helpful, and kind. But the entire staff is great. You can tell this isn’t just a job, but that they actually care and take great pride in this place. It’s very special here and we will surely be back.

There is so much to do in the Dolomites, but be sure to leave a little time to do nothing. Relaxing on the balcony, using the sauna, lounging by the pool with our tea;
these were all activities that helped to nourish us and refill our cup. Great relaxation here with an incredible view.
