A horrible experience. I book for two nights Friday and Saturday night. unfortunately i stayed for one day because my husband was rushed to a hospital had a stroke. When I went to get my stuff I paid and I told them what happened. They didn’t care all they wanted was that i had to paid them even for the Saturday night that I didn’t stay. All they said was”I’m sorry for what happened but you need to pay me because I can’t book the room at last minute”.

This is our 4th year in Roccaraso. This hotel is in the perfect location with parking. Hotel is basic, but very clean and comfortable with the best bar in the village attached to it. Lots of good restaurants within short walking or easy driving distance. The ski slopes are a short 10 minute drive away.

Great Italian ski field in a very pretty town with lots of shops etc.

Beautiful mountains, fantastic food and coffee....all Italian so no tacky touristy places... easy to get bye on English alone

Parking near the slopes (100m) €4 all day... bargain. Cheap lift passes.

Very easy to get to. 100% recommend it. Went yesterday and although no snow at the moment they had enough man made to make the day enjoyable.

Beautiful place to visit in the winter if you go for holiday around Rome, this is one of the best spot to ski near Rome, for winter vacation. Surely there are many other better options in North, but if you don’t have enough time, and you want to spend for spend 4-5 days near the Italian capital , it is nice to consider a nice day under the snow in this little town. The local people are very hospital, the facilities are quite easy and affordable and it won’t miss the great local wine to warm you up. It’s a bit tired for families, but I recommend this trip for groups of friends or couple looking for adventures;
There are different level for ski, easy roads, medium level and also track for expert only ;
There are also teacher in case you want to learn and all the ski, snow and snowboard equipment can be rent daily or weekly .
The top mountain view it’s absolutely amazing

I hadn't skied for over 36 years but my daughter persuaded me to join my grandchildren and son-in-law to join them this February at the Roccaraso ski resort in the Apennines. We based ourselves at Rivisondoli, a fairly small centre but the experience was well worth it. The staff were just tremendous - friendly, understanding and very helpful - given my complete lack of vocabulary in the Italian language. Everything was easy, from ski pass, to hiring equipment and the slopes were beautifully maintained and sufficient in number for a beginner but challenging enough - several falls, stumbles and tumbles and and ungainly methods of getting to my feet. Yes, I did have a lesson and the instructor was excellent and not too expensive and he got me from zero to happily staying 'mostly' on my feet all the way down. Can't speak highly enough of this place - and so good to have it within an hour's drive of my new home.

Great place to ski and snowboard, and also great staff.
Beware you can only use the toilet and go inside the café or restaurant using a FFP2 mask.

We used Monte Pratello as is very closed to Roccaraso and Rivisondoli town. The parking is €3 a day and there is also free parking available.
All pistes were nicely kept even at warm temperatures.
Altough the points system to use the ski lift and chairs is very poor. It is IMPOSSIBLE to top up other than increments of 25 points.
In our case we had 2 cards with 20 points left on each brcause we used 2 different chairs to go up, when we tried TOP UP at the "biglietteria" the young lady told me that this was not possible and when I asked to see the manager I was told to GET LOST.

Fun, adventurous, and scenic. Even though I went in the early season with not many slopes open, I still had a blast. Catch this place in the second week of January and you should have yourself some fresh powder covering all parts of this place. Not to many variations for food, and a little pricey. Beer is best tasted at the summit. Cheers!
